Really sad for the fans, the TV and Williams.

He was brilliant against Trump, very good against J Higgins & couldn't hit a barndoor with a banjo (see Daka links) in the final first 3 sessions.

Yes Zhao was the best player in the tournament, yes he was the best player in the final, but sadly he was never tested, and put under scoreboard and mental pressure, it was an easy ride.

He missed a lot of chances in the first 3 sessions and sadly "final" Mark couldn't take advantage, and when Williams missed most of the time Zhao stepped in.

In time Williams will realise he had a big chance there, and sadly he didn't perform as he did in the 1/4 & semi.

With the lack of decent players under 30 from the UK, the youngest really Trump & Wilson, the number of future UK World champions may become thin on the ground, as we don't have the clubs and venues & social & gaming is more attractive these days.

Most snooker clubs make more money from pool nowadays sadly.

Even at Potters, Dave Gilbert's club, it only has 6 snooker tables upstairs. It's all the pool tables downstairs which make them the most money as that's what all the kids/teens come in for.

Thoroughly agree, British talent coming through is very sparse. I think both Joe O’Connor and Jackson Page will properly breakout at some point, I’ve been impressed with Stan Moody’s development over the past season.

Beyond those though, there’s many British youngsters in junior tournaments, but even those are starting to get dominated by Eastern European contingent, especially players from Poland and Ukraine.

Then you of course have the influx of the Chinese talent, which will only expand in the coming years.

If the trend continues, I can see Snooker being dominated by Chinese and Eastern European talent in next 5-10 years.

Did anyone maange to get tickets for 2026 World championship?

Was in the priority and tickets were available Sunday morning, but wanted to try and get a ticket for the final, but they were all gone. A decent amount left at 9.15ish for other sessions but the weekends were pretty sparse so decided to leave it.
Next year!!!

Amazed to say Toñy Knowles won a match at Q School last night beating Danny Brindle 4_1.Hard  to believe  you can win a match by that scoreline when you only have one break over 20 in the whole match . Nervy last frame Tony potted Yellow and Green to lead by 23 with 22 remaining  missed a simple brown which Brindle potted along with the Blue then got the snooker but after a 10 Minuite stalemate Knowles potted the pink to complete a famous Victory

Am I right in saying anyone can enter Q School if they pay the entry fee regardless of ability?

Is that what this guy Brindle has done?

Selby with a strong shot to claim the English Open, plays Jackson Page in the QF’s later today.

Also quite surprised the new female referee this week, has yet to make an appearance in the ‘Birds you fancy off the telly’ thread

Really happy for Jack.

I see the boring knuckle dragging tin foil hat crew are all over social media claiming Judd threw the match for his mate. Judd misses easy shots all the time and if he was going to throw the match surely he wouldn't have let it go to a decider?
