JimJams Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 Nothing wrong with being a bit ambitious. Or delusional. 2
LVFox Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 Is there a scenario where we keep Mads and BEK, bring Kone in and shift enough deadwood (Ndidi, Faes, JJ) to make that work from a PSR side?

I think we will be okay. N’didi is going, and I think one of Faes or JJ will also go, potentially both. Even with this squad as it is, I think there’s enough to go up. CM concerns me a little bit, but at this level it’s more than good enough. And we won’t need Ayew to score hat loads of goals, as I can see us getting plenty from the other attackers. I would still be fairly confident even if we didn’t bring anyone in. The likes of Monga, Page, Aluko, Nelson and Alves could be like new signings.

Filbert Fireworks Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 Inter putting in an offer of around 31million sterling for ademola lookman. Remember when we could have kept him after his loan spell for a cool 10mil but we didn't bother. Sums up Rudkin in a nutshell. 1
Jazzy_Jeff Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 (edited) I’d like to think we’ll make some moves in the loan market towards the end of the window. I would much rather borrow some talent for this season rather than spend money on players who end up not being good enough next season if we get promoted Edited 5 August 2025 by Jazzy_Jeff 1
JimJams Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 Would be nice to see some moves like the Fatawu and Yunus loans, so we can keep hold of players that impress. A 6 and an 8 would be good. But I think just shopping for Miller and Kone is decent enough. I think we can and will lean more heavily on our youngsters than we could last time. 2

Pliskin Posted 5 August 2025 Posted 5 August 2025 Maher Carrizo…. €6m is his current value. Why can’t we start doing what Brighton, and now Forest are doing? Sign these players before some shitty MLS team does and ruins them.
kingpowerout Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 (edited) We need a 21-22yr old Wilf as a Wilf replacement. Someone maybe from Scandi or Belgian leagues (not sure who). But a strong, technical, athletic, tall midfield enforcer should be high on the priority list (probably what we thought we were getting in Soumare) Edited 6 August 2025 by kingpower 1

We might not be happy with the options there but currently we have 3/4 of them. Winks, Choudhury, Skipp, Soumare. Without a massive movement in outgoings with those players, we are going to have to hope that one of them steps up.

I think Choudhury is viewed as a right back by Marti and not a centre mid. I personally fully expect to see some movement with regards to getting another CM in with the outgoing of Wilf. 2

Also needs more physicality than Winks can give us. Don’t think I’ve disliked a footballer more than Bouba Soumare but I can see why he’s in that slot for now. Definitely somewhere I’d like us to improve on but it’s a tricky role to get right 2

I don’t think we need an enforcer as such, but I think a box-to-box midfielder who has similar attributes to Wilf in terms of defensive nous, physicality and height is what’s needed, you get to cover both basis then in terms of what’s missing in midfield. Two names stand out for me that cover those aspects… Tochi Chukwuani - Sturm Graz Caleb Yirenkyi - Nordsjaelland I’d really be trying to nab one of those two, before their stock potentially grows higher and someone else takes them. 2

It's just such a gripe that we have both Winks AND Skipp...who are both a carbon copy of each other with similar limitations. If we can somehow offload one of them (Winks more likely than Skipp IMO) then we can re-mould our midfield with real strength and bring in players that the manager can trust

FoxinNotts Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 I got a gut feeling we're about to be linked with someone new, which we've never been linked with before
shen Posted 6 August 2025 Posted 6 August 2025 I haven't seen us linked with Lucas Andersen, even if it seems a very obvious story with him having been at AaB when Cifuentes was there and Cifuentes bringing him to QPR. His contract has expired and he's now training back in Aalborg but has denied he will return to AaB. We need some cover in attacking midfield and even though he's not young, he can do a job for us - especially on a free.
