Other ship carrying Sodium Cyanide, which doesn't sound good!

50% probability of lethal dose with anywhere between 4-15 mg/kg for a lot of complex organisms.

So a 1kg fish or bird would only need to ingest a very small amount of it.

Hopefully not much escapes and it can be contained.

Just watching the stock market nose dive a little on the other side of the pond.

Do you think that’s engineered? Or am I overthinking this? How is Trump going to spin this?

Markets like certainty. Trump is anything but that, so they're signalling to him to start being more consistent and considered.

Trump has the anti-midas touch and anyone who believes the guy is a deal making genius....well I have a bridge to sell you.

He's already spinning it as expected and that the markets will need to readjust to his tariff plans.

What is cyanide used for these days?

Small suicide capsules inside fake teeth.

Don't you watch movies?

FWIW, I don’t think any of this is engineered. I just think he doesn’t fully understand what he’s doing.

He doesn't care because he's wealthy and people will buy his shitty trading cards or whatever he sells and keep making money as he is God.

Exactly this and you'd have thought as a 'business man' he'd know this. Even running a company you should know that stability is key. The erratic decisions and his ability to flip flop about anything doesn't help.

How this over sized ooompa lumpa still has money, I have no idea. If it was trump v lord sugar I know who I'd back.

I can’t think that sending hundreds of drones into residential buildings in Moscow before the meeting with the US was a great idea.

Perhaps they weren't going to hit the buildings until they were shot down.

That’s also true but that’s the risk. Not that the Russians wouldn’t do the same. It’s just you can see Trump using it is as some kind of pretext to declare Ukraine doesn’t want peace.

Tongues or just a quick smooch?

I'm sure that Rule 34 means that some sick puppy has either put together AI videos or written fan fiction of just such a scenario, but I'd sooner watch Two Girls One Cup with my entire family than seek it out.

Pretty much this.

Those claiming he's playing a long game of 4D chess that nobody else understands and/or that he's a genius have either drunk the Kool-Aid or think he's at least as competent as US Presidents in the past.

He's an aging, erratic, overly emotional businessman with inherited wealth, a patchy business record and average to below average intelligence.

The idea that he's somehow outwitting and capable of winning a long, strategic economic game against some of the foremost economists in the world, never mind canny politicians like those in the UK, EU and Russia, is so laughable it's a wonder why people even begin to believe it.

Every room he enters with world leaders sees him at a huge strategic disadvantage, even with the largest economy and military in the world. If you gave Manchester City's budget and infrastructure to a Sunday league football coach, they wouldn’t win the Champions League. The same applies here.

Whatever one thinks about China's form of governance (and there's a lot to think about), it's a matter of simple fact that they alone among the leading nations are looking to and acting for the future in anywhere near the manner necessary.

Pretty much.

And the big problems with that are that people around him can use and are using his bombast to carry out highly malicious acts for their own power, and any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice anyway.

We should be careful not to underestimate either Trump or those around him.  Whether you like their plan or not, they certainly have one, and the only balance / control is the reaction of the stock market.

Right - even if the consequences of what the man and those around him do aren't intended, they're still real and are still hurting (and are going to hurt) a lot of decent people.

What's their plan then? I don't agree that it looks like they 'certainly have one'.

The accumulation and retention of more power over other people. By whatever means.

If he wants to say that then he will regardless of what Ukraine does.
