What I'm looking for is someone who can contribute to what England has given the world.  Culture.  Sophistication. Genius.  A little bit more than a hot dog.

My MIL insists on microwaving it, is it worse than that?

It's the sort of thing most folk do once and not again, ever

Microwaved bacon? Why?!

16 years since I met my wife and I've still no idea what it's about.

My MIL has some very strange ideas around food and this is just one of a long list of things she does that I find utterly inexplicable. At least she's not poisoned us, yet, anyway

Osbourne Pinner

Other divorce lawyers are available.

Not needed, my wife wouldn't claim to be the greatest cook ever but at least has the instincts for when things are very, very wrong shared by, well, the rest of humanity really.

Those tribes in the Amazon who have had no contact with the outside world get uncomfortable with seeing someone put bacon in a microwave despite not having any concept of either

I feel sorry for the average US citizen, who can no longer afford maple syrup on their pancakes :(

As a Canadian citizen, I enjoyed my maple syrup with pancakes this morning.

They can enjoy their freedom fries, gulf of America fish sticks and Florida orange man juice.

Can we have a separate thread for American politics? I love a political debate but it’s literally every single post on here these days.

So, for the record, I tried.

Probably best to keep it all to one thread anyway.

I was watching a news report regarding the Learjet crash in the states. The reporter mentioned that a page from a flight manual was found.

A bystander was reported as saying, 'How come a piece of paper can survive but a person couldn't?'

I think I now know how someone like Trump can become president.

Not sure it’s linked mate

Seen on the news this morning a load of tradesmen going down to Parliament to highlight tool theft. One bloke said he was in a house for 20 minutes, came back out and they'd cut a hole in his door to nick £8000 worth.

Absolute scum. The damage that does to productivity as well.

How did they cut a hole before they nicked the tools?

It happens because every trader is happy to buy iffy goods down the pub.

I was talking to a tradesman I know who was telling me that the current thing is not always about the tools being stolen to be sold on, but returning them to their (hopefully) rightful owners for a "fee". The crims scour local social media for people moaning about their stuff being nicked and then offer to get it back, sometimes for a few hundred quid, sometimes for not much at all. Less hassle than trying to flog it, I guess.

What a time to be alive

Canadians are mild mannered and polite for the most part. We take the heat but see the bigger picture.

Don't take the kindness for weakness. We will fuk you up when you least expect it but deserve it.

I don't care for Trudeau or the others but I will 100% stand with any of our leaders when it comes to our country being attacked (economically/physically).

I know that's an over reaction to the current trade situation but  t w a t orange face manchild has gone too far. I fully want us to move in another direction and find better trade options with the rest of the world (where possible). We need to be less reliant on americans if this is how they want to treat neighbours.

Canadians play Ice Hockey, a game I define as 3 20 minute periods of violence with occasional outbreaks of sport.

I know remarkably little about Canada other than the public transport sucks (Race Across the World), Huuuuuuuuuuume!, moose, and the Mountie version of Action Man. Oh, and they have two languages like Belgium.

They are nutters here. I can attest to the violence first hand. Our street hockey games were violent for the dumbest reasons. Lol

It's interesting now that England and the USA have the same third word in their national anthems.*

Another teenager knife death by another teenager. What causes the hate that these young blokes carry within them? Utterly depressing situation

Scratch the surface of most societies and you'll find anti social behaviour and violence. However I haven't been to a country where it is as constantly excused as it is in Britain. No doubt this kid was just a bit boisterous and was let down by amazon/social media/ the closing of his local youth club.

Britain should stick up for Canada more considering the history of the two countries. Pretty sad but unsurprising to watch our government's reaction to Trump's meltdowns.

Trumps already agreed to delay the Mexican tariffs on the basis that they will police the border better

there is a lot of bluster with him but it’s not good for markets. (Or maybe it is for those trading daily ).  Also not good for political stability but then he’s not bothered about that - just wants his peace prize 😄
