In the  window already we have sold Cannon for £10m and got £60k per week off the books with Choudhury in order to sign a low wage £1.9m signing from Parma. If that hasn't already given us the leeway to bringing in a £15m-£20m centre half on better wages than they enjoy outside the UK then we are in a more serious pickle than any of us think.

What baffles me is that we don't even seem to be preparing in the correct manner for life in the Championship!

As a business owner, you simply have to run all scenarios on likelihoods. We are odds on to go down. We should be getting players in that COULD show some grit for the remainder of this season (to potentially help us pull off an escape) but also are 'guaranteed' to be great for us in Championship.

There is absolutely ZERO plan

all the clubs around us are bringing players in, while we just sit on our hands

cant wait for the club to try and plead with us fans when the EFL give us a potential transfer embargo and points deduction next season

Could’ve sworn I read before the window opened there would be money to spend?

We did, 1.9 million on Coulibaly...

Bizarre also, as if we do get relegated (as is looking likely), we're not going to be able to sign any players due to impending transfer embargo from EFL. All very strange.

I still find the Cannon sale very short sighted particularly if there is no plan B. I can understand that recruitment has been complicated by starting with Enzo then Cooper plus PSR but it all seems so random and apart from Bilal  are we any stronger than the team that came up?

I don't think it'll be long before we're asking the football finance experts to dig in to where the money is going....

By not spending any money this month and selling mads in June we will give the efl management accounts for 24/25 which probably meet psr - and therefore no embargo’s

our commission hearing and points deduction for 22/23 is separate to this - we’ll get that subject to any legal shenanigans we have up our sleeve.

And given that those accounts don’t need to be submitted in the autumn, there is no basis on which the EFL can impose a transfer embargo this summer anyway. I wish people would stop with the transfer embargo stuff - it’s not going to happen.

On the plus side we paid off a 12 year finance agreement for the fridges we use throughout the stadiums on Thursday....

I genuinely think we're hoping Man City might come in for Mads today (OP-A point 1)

If we treat this as the truth and there is some money but they don't think it can improve the squad, I have to question where the hell we are looking for players. You can't get much worse defensively, I refuse to believe there aren't better players out there than faes or vesty who aren't expensive, just reeks of an incompetent scouting and recruiting network looking in the wrong places.

Martyn Glover should be sacked immediately, he’s completely inept at finding the talent required, he’s as culpable at Rudkin in all this

Depends on how you look at it. If he is asked to only find £2mill worth of players this window then he's done a great job.

Its a bit like asking me to build banking software for nothing. Its not like he's had £50 mil to play with.

Point 1) has been trotted out for years now.

And its bollocks anyway on deadline day. If a £50 mil offer for mads comes in this afternoon do we really have 2 players ready to come in? Takes us forever to get deals done.

.... he did in the summer. We are in the state we are in partly because the recruitment that he is part of has been utter trash.
