I wasn’t discrediting your opinion at all I was just curious as to how much you’d actually seen of him.

I disagree that he’s bang average. He’s shown more than enough for me that he can do it at championship level.  He’ll 100% be part of the squad next season

I hope your right mate and I hope I’m proved wrong I’d love to be but imo I just don’t see it he ain’t starting on the wings next season if we have Mavididi Fatawu Monga Mcateer! And I’d be seriously worried if he was our number 10. Maybe another loan will do him wonders.

He won’t be our starting winger not a chance. He’ll be an option off the bench and rotation to start with. I’ve seen nearly all his minutes at Cardiff and today was definitely one of his poorer displays.

Get him in a side that actually look to attack in numbers and can keep the ball! I think he’ll do just fine.

Need to remember it’s his first senior loan after an ACL injury.

Did you watch Nelson at the same age being at most bang average really in his loans at Doncaster and Rochdale in lower leagues than Alves is playing in now, whilst not also having suffered a very serious injury?

Give him a chance

I will give him a chance if he plays for us like I do every single player that does!

i didn’t see Nelson at Rochdale and Doncaster I’ll be honest but we seen glimpses of him the last 2 seasons didn’t we and obviously this season with Oxford! Nelson has a bad injury ( nowhere near as bad as Alves ) Nelson just looks class and ready where as for Alves he’s a winger and he just don’t excite me like other academy players have done in the past. I hope im wrong and he absolutely smashes it and makes me look a fool lol

Christ alive, you'd think some of our lot would look to hold on to any hope we do have and Alves is one of them. The lad is 19 years old, in his first championship loan, already one of Cardiff's better players and is VERY  highly rated by those in power at the FA, all off the back of having his left snapped in half. Give it a rest for christ sake.

I think that’s the most impressive thing about him. He’s made a hell of a recovery

Not seen a lot of Alves at Cardiff. However to improve our squad next season he only has to be better than BDCR and McAteer.

Not the highest bar. Does anyone have an insight whether he’s reached that level?

He's has 4 goals contributions in 602 minutes, which is one every 150.5 minutes.

Since he's arrived at Cardiff they have scored 12 goals in 13 games.

He's only played in 10 of those and has been involved in 33% of their goals.

I think you are underestimating the performance of a 19 year making he's first steps in the game.

Average that contribution rate over 46 games season, playing every 90 minutes you get 27 goal contributions

Rubbish. Should be getting 270 over a season if he's got a chance of making it

It’s the lads first taste of consistent senior football, what are some fans expecting? He’s a quality player, and will be valuable to us next season.

I just don’t think he’s all that mate and looks lightweight to me. Everytime I’ve seen him and especially last night he don’t do it for me granted he’s only 19 and first proper senior football and in hope I’m wrong but for me I don’t watch him and go wow he’s going to be a star!

Go and ask what the Cardiff fans think.

They have bigger problems atm mate 😂

They do, which is why the fact they rate him is a crumb of comfort. Alves is one of the best players within his age group in this county, like Bilal for us, he’s offered Cardiff fans some enjoyment in what has been a dreadful season. He by no means the finished article, but he’s well ahead of the likes of KDH at his age, and now has had men’s football exposure for a good amount of time.

If he can stay injury free, he will be a star.

On last night's evidence, Alves is some distance away from being the next Harvey Barnes.

Foxestalk:  "Rudkin is useless and needs to be moved on".

Also Foxestalk: "Seagrave [devised and overseen by Rudkin] is bursting with world-class talent who, if given the chance, will turn Leicester City into the next Barcelona".

Only one of the above statements is true.

Most sensible readers can work out which.. 😄

When we’ve had to endure the utter dross of “experienced pros” like Reid and Ayew this season.

I can’t fathom how any LCFC fan isn’t excited at the idea of Alves being in our squad in the Championship next season.

This loan has been great for his experience and whilst I don’t think he’ll start our first game of the season, confident he’ll play a part in our promotion push.

I would think Alves has all the talent (maybe potentially more) than Barnes and his final product etc. Barnes always seemed quite strong and physical so Alves would need to work on that.

But, at Alves’ age, Barnes was on loan to MK Dons in League 1. I also remember watching him in an FA cup game for us. I forget who against, it was a lower league side on a. Really dodgy narrow pitch but he looked out of his depth.

So it’s far too early to rule Alves out although you did reference on last nights showing. I guess if you pick one game to judge someone on you could make a world class to pin team judgement on anyone.

Alves is technically not a Seagrave product. He was 15 when it was built.

The first Seagrave generation of talent is undeniably better than what came before it, it may be because of quality the training facilities or because Leicester could attract better talent following recent success.

The question is how has this £100mil investment benefited the club, the first team has collapsed in performance and quality since it was built and it doesnt matter if we produce elite level talents if they just get poached by Liverpool and Man City anyway.

If the likes of Monga, Evans, Page etc make it to the first team and perform at the level we hope they will then that will be a positive for Rudkin, just because he is overall a bad influence at the club does not mean some of his decisions won't pay off.

I think you have to remember Barnes first loan at 19 was in league 1 were he got 7 goals contributions in 1684 minutes for a mid table side.

Alves is playing at a level higher and already has 4 in 602 minutes.

Barnes first loan in Championship at Barnsley he got 5 goals contributions I'm 1404 Minutes.

I think most people are comparing  Alves to Barnes time at West Brom, but forget Barnes had 46 league games under his belt by the time he got there.

Alves is a year behind in he's develop due to his ACL.

It's hard to tell what level he will be, but he's doing well a Cardiff for me.

He's has been consistently called up for the England squad at u17, u18 and u20 suggest he's highly thought off.

How may have had a career threatening ACL

His biggest asset is he seldom loses the ball, so even if he comes across as lightweight his protection of the ball is impressive.

What saddens me with Alves is the maverick skill has been coached out of him, he still has enough skill to unlock defences but the rabonas and triple nutmegs with pike haven't been seen in senior football since Brendan threatened him 😂

That's just modern football for you. Maverick ability, segments of pure skill and 'wow' don't happen anymore. It's all about systems and team play
