Nigel Pearson played a big part in changing the club forever. Without him King Power would still be chucking money at big name Championship managers while not being able to make the play offs. Everything started when Pearson walked back through the door.

Pearson couldn’t have bought the ground, paid off the loans and bought a new squad. You’re living a fantasy.

Who says I'm crying woe is me?

If anything, I'm grateful we're not a Cov, Stoke, Derby, Portsmouth etc.

We've had a great run, realized the dream, and now we're going back down - again.

The joys of being a Leicester fan.

You said melodramatically that we’d been down for 20 years just because we haven’t signed anyone on transfer deadline day.

It’s clear our fan base is split between folks who are not happy but willing to accept the status quo and embracing our fate. The other half is fighting to hold onto whatever credibility and achievements we have gained in the last 12 years. It’s fair to say both sides care passionately but we are not united on all fronts. Yes football has cycles and every normal team or club goes thru ups and downs. However that’s where I draw the line. We Leicester city are NOT A normal club. Based on our recent almost near impossible achievements alone we are a freak of nature! We do nothing in half measures it seems. It’s bloody boom

or bust. By its very nature it is hard to sustain and maintain this formula if you want to call it that. We all expected more after winning the league and the cup. Maybe it’s just not possible but it’s not wrong to be ambitious. We tried and fell short that’s ok. I feel we just needed to find a happy medium. At the very least we should be a mid table team that’s establishing itself. Instead we are set on course for a total catastrophe the likes of we have not seen barring the administration period. None of us want to get taken to the cleaners again. We just want to survive.
our owners mean well but there has been gross negligence at the management level and heads must roll. These shennanigans are not acceptable. I’m for fan protest as Top needs to feel this angry energy so he can finally take drastic action and change the trajectory we are on. IF he still truelly cares about us. What would Vichai do?

Nothings for ever in life and its the same in

Football.

Look how many teams have won the top division and the disappeared to relative obscurity.

Why should we be any different?

Who are these teams you speak of? Blackburn are the only previous PL champions who have vanished into obscurity? And I’m pretty sure they haven’t ever seen £500m pass through the club in its life time, let alone transfers……

Why are you hell bent on trying to defend this?

Kind power has destroyed the club, through negligence and incompetence…. This is not acceptable.

I said "see you all back at the top of English football in about another 20 years or so"

That doesn't mean I think we'll be out of the PL for 20 years, it means I don't think we'll back at the top of English football (i.e. top 6 PL) for another 20 years.

Have you got any evidence to suggest otherwise?

And it's got FA to do with this transfer window. We're skint and results/form say we're getting relegated. And unless we get lucky and find another Enzo to bring us straight back up, I think we'll be in the championship for a while.

Nothing melodramatic about any of that. Just realism.

he turned us around under Mandaric, got us into the playoffs and was one chipped penalty away from a final vs a team we'd already beaten twice that season. The money helps but it's a manager and backroom staff that built the club, not a duty free company who chucked money at Sven and his mercenary army, or Sousa, when they first came in.

No the money was everything. Pearson did a decent job but we’d never have been more than okay without the money.

But without Pearson King Power would have spunked millions on shite players and shite managers like they have since he's gone.

The only other decent choice they made was Puel and then Rodgers with Puels players.

"We used to be a bit crap so it's fine that we are one of the worst run clubs in the Football League" is a weird and defeatist attitude.

Competence from the people running our football club is not too much to ask.

I can’t prove a negative, nobody can but you use every setback to back up your argument while dismissing success as luck. Anyway my point was that you are right to be angry but not right to say it’ll never be any different.

and we'd have been a joke, spending big money on shit while sitting mid table championship forever, if King Power had worked without Pearson, Shakey and Walsh. Pearson could have gotten us up on a shoestring, he nearly did in 2010.

Is that the same Puel who was widely disliked by most of the fans and mocked for saying intensitee? Rewriting history here.

Ironically Pearson’s best two season he paid out peanuts, don’t half make you think to quote a Southampton club legend

I never once dismissed our success as luck - you keep misquoting me.

And I didn't say it'll never be any different - misquoting me again.

I said I think it'll take another 20 years until we're challenging again at the top of the Premier League.

An era has ended, and we'll likely be confined to the Championship for the foreseeable future (hopefully not worse). Beyond our past achievements, I take great pride in the fact that we were once part of football's elite:

As a manager he wasn't great but he brought in some great young players.

Football goes in cycles. Lots of clubs have periods of success and shit over the years (and some never have any success at all)

You can argue all day and night that we should have capitalized on the PL win and cemented ourselves regularly in the top 10 club, but Leicester have always been a yo-yo club in the 40+ years I've followed them. We're just an mid sized provincial East Midlands club whether we like it or not.

We climbed Everest and completed football with the FA cup win so no one can take that away from us, but it looks like we're now set for another period in the doldrums - that's how it goes.

Strap in for the next chapter of our rollercoaster ride and see you all back at the top of English football in about another 20 years or so.

The more you reflect and realise this the more remarkable it is that no one behind the scenes has been sacked. Or that they’ve not even tried to arrest the decline by doing something differently. It’s baffling. As I said in another thread Top and Rudkin make Peter Taylor look like a golden boy.

I'm not sure we will ever be an established Premier League side again unless something major changes in football. PSR will see the league closed shop next year I suspect will be 3 consecutive seasons the 3 promoted sides go down as none of this year's side are as strong as we were or even Ipswich. That gaps going to keep going year on year with PSR, kinda ruins the game.

I'm gonna guess that there's a direct correlation between Puel haters - an easy 75% of our support. And those on here who masturbated themselves to a near coma when Cashmere man got the job. Probs an easy 75%

Fans have never been a reliable judge of football character.
