Only if Boro had hired Nigel Pearson, Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh before they were purchased by King Power

Nigel was Boro captain for that 97 cup final - there's every chance

Meh, his managerial career was pretty unspectacular when we appointed him, the odds would have been next to nothing.

One of the first games I remember being at was when Claridge scored in the 18th second for Millwall against us. We won 4 1 I believe.

Think they had that twat Dennis Wise in their team.

Yep, that game we managed to get into players tunnel after the match due to people thinking we were working. remember the tunnel was packed with security for wise. But i saw claridge coming down and shouted your still a leicester legend stevie, he  grinned, walked over and shook my hand. Before i was roughly chucked out by the stewards!  Well worth it though!

People argue over how important Pearson, Ranieri, King Power, the clappers and Richard III were for our title win when we know in reality it was all Milan Mandaric.

Too young to have watched him play but you could see his affection for the club on the football league show. Him and Manish were a great foil for each other.

Most of the players who seem to have real affection for the club either had us as a big move or spent a long time there. It matters and is why most of the current lot just have nothing about them.

It’s also why 09-15 was so enjoyable. It was a likeable, rag-tag bunch enjoying the apex of their careers with us.

I may be wrong but I think he was feeling unwell with it over in the Madrid UEFA cup game, the heat impacted on him. Think he was subbed quite early on.

It must have come back to bite him possibly, he was never the same for the second season in the Prem. under O'Neill and was sadly sold to Wolves...where he never shone. I think he came of age at Pompey in the early 00s though!

Him, Izzet, Lennon and Kåmark all signing within a few months of each other. Good season for signings.

Scott Taylor was great before the injuries and Julian Watts did a job too.

Take me back!

He signed for us a few weeks after I went to my first ever game. And he scored the first goal in the first win I ever witnessed at Filbert Street. So really for me in that period he was Leicester City in the same way that Vardy is now, and like Vardy his character and story was as almost as important as what he did on the pitch. Growing up outside of Leicester he was really the only player of that era that non City fans took a great interest in.

I'm not sure any player has had a greater per-game impact on the club and supporters. Only 63 league appearances (Luke Thomas has nearly made as many!) and he totally changed the history of the club.

You're right. He's definitely got something of the Vardy about him.

Barnet looks better has he been turkey

Can anyone watch/listen to this and list the timestamps for when he talks about Leicester?

I love the man but I can't spend near 90 mins listening to these total banter merchants if someone can give me a shortcut.

No - but I've got as far as where he's talking about going to Weymouth from Bournemouth. Sort of encouraging and depressing in equal measure about how Bournemouth have risen. Claridge is always an interesting listen. (get to about 50 mins)
