A few games back, maybe as he may have backed himself to have a go at it. But with our fixtures and point gap, it’s a forgone conclusion.  There are more illogical fans then logical ones and even though on paper you can say he’s coming into prepare for next season there will be people who judge him for what happens between now and the end of the season and it won’t be pretty.

 

 

 

Completely get your point, I just hope come the summer he is available, but there will be other options out there if he's not, sadly it's in the hands of the circus upstairs.

You're assuming that there's 4m to burn, not only financially but PSR wise. I doubt therefore anyone will be going anywhere until the end of the season.

You're right, either there is 4m available or we breach PSR, either way if we can't spend £4m then we are stuck with Ruud for the considerable future anyway, which is frightening.

You may be right. It's possible that I'm in denial because the prospect of our board not grasping the gravity of our situation is too terrifying for me to contemplate...:(

We just need a new manager...

 

Baffles me how many fans are interested in playing style than survival....Cooper had us above the relegation zone, creating chances and fighting in games - way too early to sack him and we are giving Ruud all the time in the world.

 

Keeping the faith with Ruud in the championship would be too big a risk.

 

He is working a club legend down to the bone by playing him for 90 mins, and persisting with these lazy midfielders that we have playing for us...

 

The fitness levels are no where near the 15/16 side. Too much rondo at the seagrave golf and leisure resort.

 

The decision making and team selection capacity just isn't there.

 

The goal drought record is crazy...

 

Cannot see any way back now. Wolves would need to throw it away and we would need a miracle.

Didn’t work for burnley, didn’t work for Ipswich ( for different reasons) but the teams that survive tend to adapt and with the gap as large as it is right now, you simply need a pragmatic manager to have a chance.

 

Doesn’t mean you need to be negative but just understand that you preferred philosophy isn’t going to work against top sides and you have to build towards it. That’s why someone like rohl is my preference as he’s already proven he can operate at the bottom of a table so let’s see how he can do with a team towards the top.

Someone that can be successful at scrapping in the premier league. Who knows that the Year One target is to stay in 17th or above...

You’ve got 2 choices, adapt. or really back yourself in the market. 
 

we dont have money and our scouting hasn’t been good enough, so you can rule out bargain gems. Our only option is to adapt. Perhaps someone like Leeds with red bulls backing can throw more at it but most clubs, need to adapt. 
 

ipswich made good signings but if I had to fault them it’s because they won’t alter their strategy.  They could have made a decent go of it if they tightened up imo.

It's a firm no to Southgate from me. The bloke is too strongly opposed to the well established training regimes at Seagrave to make it work

At the end of the Cooper error we were NOT creating chances. In his last game we didn't have a shot on target until the 95th minute.

 

The only reason he kept us out of the drop zone was due to a quirk in the fixture list which saw us play Southampton and Ipswich in quick succession.  And even then, it was only those two sides pressing the self-destruct button which allowed us to take 4 points from those games.

 

As for RVN overplaying Vardy, maybe he heard about what happens to managers who dare to take him off too early..
