Liam Rosenior for me. Did a cracking job at Hull. Was impressed with them when they beat us at the KP.

With the team he had he should have secured the playoffs imo!

Strasbourg currently 4-1 up against Lyon. Will go up to 5th in the league.
Can’t see Roseinor leaving them for us in the championship especially with the possibility of European football as well.

I do think our pull has gone down from two years ago when we last went down. Maresca was a novice and we did get quite lucky that he turned out to be good enough to get us up. We are repeatedly letting our managers down now and it's this sort of thing that would give even someone like Southampton, bad as they are, the upper hand over us.

I don't see anyone with any real calibre taking this job. It'll be someone out of work and a bit desperate. We're not a good bet at this point.

I think we actually do have pull for foreign managers where they would probably be less aware of what happens here who would see us a route to the Premier League. But then we pick from a limited pool anyway.

It does point to Martin or O'Neil (ha)

Martin and O’Neil have both very recently comprehensively failed to achieve exactly the kind of job we would want them to do. Appointing either of them would mean completely ignoring those failures. RVN is far more likely to stay than one of those two being appointed.

Was undecided on Rosenoir in the summer but he's really shown improvements during the season at Strasbourg, with a really young group.

Would massively tick every box for me now, especially as he showed when his hull side played us last season, he can also set a side up to defend and counter.

Problem is, I don't see him leaving Strasbourg who could easily be in Europe next year, for us in the championship.

True why on earth would he leave a  club and team doing very well to join a shambles of a club that will ultimately **** him up

And that's the weekend spoiler... thanks a bunch

That would only be an issue it it was Rudkin who appointed our next manager, and I have a feeling it won’t be.

Top won’t get rid of rudkin unfortunately imo  and I can honestly see Martin as our new manager! Linked before enzo and plays the tippy tappy top loves and got experience in getting promoted from the championship.

If I'm Rosenoir, I'm eyeing up potential discontent at Chelsea with Enzo and hoping they look within their own group.

I’ve spent months pooh-poohing the suggestion Martin would be considered for the job and it feels like I may have to keep doing it for a while yet :D Yes, he plays the football Top likes but he has just spectacularly failed with Southampton in the PL. In particular, he showed that he has no ability whatsoever to organise a defence.  As stubborn and naive as our owners can be, they have never appointed somebody off the back of a spectacular failure and I can’t see them doing so now when we’re at a major crisis point and they desperately need to get the fans back onside. They won’t do it.

I really do admire your optimism and belief but this is the same Top and Rudkin who thought hiring Steve Cooper who had been pretty rancid in the premier league with Forest and allowing him free reign to piss money up the wall on shite like BDCR, Ayew, Skipp and Eduoard was a decent idea. They are pretty clueless when it comes to managerial appointments and the strategy is all over the shop.

I truly believe they would have no hesitation in appointing Russell Martin despite his failings at Southampton if the opportunity presented itself.

If only we had replaced Bodgers with Unai Emery prior to the relegation.

Or Iraola. There are others too. Absolute madness. There was an array of decent managers available that season including de zerbi too. All were attainable.

I’d add Glasner and Slot that were getable.

I hope you’re right I really do.

If Burnley fail to get promoted...Scott Parker. Nevermind goals, I'd love to see a clean sheet or two. That's hell of a defensive  record for Burnley this season.

I hope it's not a Tippy Tappy possession based, possessive. The game has changed, and we need to be ahead of the curve, not playing catchup.

With all the mistakes Top and Co. have made. They must be due a sane decision soon. Surely.

Losing twice to the Faroe Islands doesn't count?

Annoyingly, of the current top 10 teams in the Championship, 8 of them fall in the top 10 for most possession this season.

Only Sheffield United and Sunderland slightly fall outside that bracket.

The Championship is being dominated by teams who like to control possession, it’s why going down that route again seems highly likely.

If that’s to be the case, I’d still want someone who isn’t scared of throwing youth into the mix.

It’s a shame West Brom took Mowbray, he would have been perfect for that type of scenario.

Maybe it’s why the club are supposedly interested in Rosenior, worked with a relatively young squad at Hull, now working with the youngest squad in Ligue 1 at Strasbourg.

I’d also make a case for Tom Cleverley, his reign at Watford has been far from perfect, but he’s done a solid enough job considering the media were tipping them for relegation this season. Watford have one of the more younger squads in the division, while he hasn’t been scared to throw youth into the mix.
