Yeah, this is the worst in my lifetime. I have only vague childhood memories of the Tater Peeler season, but even that only really comparable to the Rodgers relegation - a well-balanced squad built by his predecessor, filled with inferior replacements that ultimately failed with a whimper despite probably being good enough to survive on paper. In hindsight, the lows beyond that Bolton loss only really got as bad as the futile wait for Akinbiyi to come good. We've got that again with Daka, and in so many other positions throughout the side. We're also getting tonked far more regularly than Tater's side ever did.

Like others have said, there's zero passion, nobody on that field bar Vardy seems to care. Even the team I saw relegated to League One had the likes of Hume, Howard, Oakley, Kisnorbo, Wesolowski, who seemed to care.

And the stats obviously back up how uniquely appalling this squad is. Minus 40 goal difference. Record breaking goalless streaks. It would be causing riots in the stands at clubs less placid than ours.

As someone who missed 77/78 by one season as my first game was September 78 this’s feels like our worst ever top flight season. Only 01/02 comes close but even that ended on a mini high when we beat Spurs in the last ever game at Filbert Street. 94/95 was just lack of quality not effort , 03/04 was just crap defending after 80 minutes but was a fairly entertaining but chaotic team. 22/23 should always be seen as the worst as it should never have been allowed to happen with the team we had and will likely set us back 10 years at least.

If this team played our 07/08 relegation team (to league 1) it would end 0-0 with not a single shot in 90 minutes.

I just don’t get the apathy when it should be real anger.

We haven't had many worse seasons in my lifetime to be honest...not just thinking about the PL.

Those few years leading up to the League 1 relegation were worse, but this season is right up there with them.

I've not seen a season this bad - so many dead rubber games left.  Never have we been this far below the relative level of the league.  The mind boggles that Southampton are in an even worse position.  I'm sure we'll slip below them before the end of the season :(

At the start of the season I thought they had little chance but they've managed to sink below my expectations, an absolutely appalling team bar the odd exception.

Our GOAT is too old and should never have been expected to carry the attack in most games and to see Ward in goal again to see a repeat of his classic clownery was the stuff nightmares are made of.

This is the worst team by a mile....all those others still tried...still scored goals...still fought on the pitch.

This is the worst I've seen since 1980

I am a real golden oldie and I think this ranks as the worst top flight since McLintock was manager I dont recall such anger when relegated to Div 2 under Holloway who least had the  decency to apologise

I’d take a back line of curtis, scimeca, Dabizas and thatcher over what we currently have lol

Gareth Williams and Stephen Hughes in CM?

Get them all back!

I don't remember Brian Little's side, but this is miles worse than anything else I've seen in the Prem.

He was light years ahead of everyone we've had since Puel in terms of squad building, at the very least.

With the way we are playing and the way we are being led, I'd say it probably is right up there with the worst. LCFC under Ruud are comfortably the worst team in the Premier League at the moment, just utterly honking. I genuinely believe if captain clueless is in charge until the end of the season, we'll not get another point and probably barely any goals as well.

Yes and by some distance. Nothing about them. We were out of our depth under Little/Mcghee but that team would’ve been embarrassed with the (lack of) basic effort and mental strength of these lot - Robert’s, Draper and Joachim would’ve beaten them.

Under Adams and the dads army, we lacked quality in defence but can you imagine how much fun Ferdinand, Dickov and Bent would’ve had against Faes, Coady and Vestegaard.

There is absolutely nothing to like about this team. The club is in the worst state it’s ever been. And before anyone says, League One blah blah. This lot, from the owner down has killed hope - I don’t think I’ve ever had this feeling before about city a I hate them for it. It’s unforgivable. This is the worst LCFC I’ve ever seen.

This is by far and away the worst ever LCFC team I've witnessed. I think even an outsider (pundit) can see it like Troy Deeney! He said on MOTD2 last night that our recruitment has been chaotic/all over the place for this season (probably meaning two bad managerial appointments one after the other, plus the poor players we signed) and we need this international break just to get our ship in order for next season. Something along those lines anyway - and something of an understatement!

A lot of it wasn't 100% Holloway's fault either and he was the last in line of poor appointments at the time. I heard horror stories about the McLintock era of the 70s too though.

That squad had some bang average players like Brian Carey, Nicky Mohan, Jimmy Willis and Neil Lewis who clearly weren't PL quality.

It also had Mark Draper who was head and shoulders our best player that year IMO.

But they all worked their bollocks off - Whitlow, Grayson, Lowe, Roberts etc.

They'd have beaten this current shower of shit on work rate alone.

Yes quite a few have mentioned the mclintock team....couple of years before I started going but he's still regarded as a massive failure.

Apparently we're the first side in this country's football league history to have lost 7 consecutive home games without scoring a single goal.  Jesus wept.

And we will continue to break it every week for the foreseeable.
