Wout Faes and Kristensen made a big difference not being in the team.

 

We are also more of a threat with Mcateer as much as people hate him.

 

Some good performances at long last, Mav and Bilal stood out.

I’ve wanted McAteer in for weeks. He’s a hard worker, is fairly quick and doesn’t stop going for 90 minutes. Lacks quality but he’s got a nack for being a nuisance and that’s the minimum we need at the moment.

We had a bottle of very decent Champagne in the cupboard that somebody bought us when our eldest was born. It has a lovely personalised label on it and everything. We were saving it until my lad turns 18, but I’ve just poured half of it into a pint glass and downed it.

I think he would do a better job in midfield than Soumare. He needs to trust his instincts more and not slow things down to nothing.
 

Was willing to press and tackle unlike the rest of the team. Shame Bilal got a yellow so early as he doesn’t shy away.

I also thought Skipp did alright from the bench, even if you could tell he lacked match sharpness.

They ‘turned up’ when Brighton were already on the beach. Even then Brighton could of scored 5 or 6
