We won the title with gems signed under Pearson - Morgan, Schmeichel, Vardy, Albrighton, Mahrez, Huth and with the addition of Fuchs and Kante of course.  The likes of Schmeichel, Vardy and Morgan became the spine of the team for years to come.

 

We were also helped by the emergence of academy graduates, Barnes, KDH and Chilwell.  The old guard plus academy players has been the basis of our success.

 

Good signings,  post title, I can list on one hand - Tielemans, Maddison, Maguire, Hermansen, Ndidi .... struggling after that.  Fatawu maybe.

we were champions of England and we made signings that a newly promoted side would have laughed at.

 

we had scouted a then 16yr old Isak, could have broke the bank for Van Dijk (he would have left Southampton for us), replaced Kante with a world class centre mid and signed a relegated Grealish for £20m. This would have been for starters if we were serious.

 

We instead signed a dud from Spain on a free, Mendy (who got broken in his 1st home game) musa and Slimani. Horrendous and undid all the amazing work we did.

Slimani gets such an unfair rap in our fanbase tbh, he cost a lot of money, but his goals to minutes ratio were the best at the club for most of his time with us, and he was a strong physical striker who made his name as a "fox in the box" striker who could win headers. 
Every time he came on the pitch he was told to drop deep into the Okazaki role, and he more often than not came on as a sub for Albrighton. We literally played against the 2 strengths he had that made him such a potent striker in Portugal. 

If we kept Albrighton on and actually put balls into the box and told him to arrive, his goals to minutes would have been incredible imo. 
Bit harsh imo that so many think of his as bad value for money as a player, when in reality he was bad value for money because our managers didn't play to his strengths.

Silva. Hands down. Everyone else - no matter how useless - has contributed something . Goals. Blocks. Penalty saves in cup games. But Silva  gave us  as close to zero as is possible. And cost a fortune, was totally embarrassing as a signing process and had zero influence  on any game. Absolutely abysmal.

Soumare and VK sum up the shambles of the club. Both relegated, then refuse to play in the Championship because they were too good so go out on loan for the season and then come back after we get promoted and both turn in worse performances than when we were relegated before.

 

Piss taking chancers that should never have been entertained and epitomises absolutely everything that is wrong with the club.
