You'd be waiting ages for a go mate. He'd spend about 90 minutes 'messing around the back' before you could get anywhere near. 4

I give it till mid October and your views on Martin will be changed(if hes our boss) Oh yeah if we start as poorly as some make out we will, then I will be fully on the Martin Out train. I just think he’ll be absolutely more than good enough at championship level! of course the concerns would come later if we’re promoted. 1
AjcW Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 Also absolutely nothing fishy (pun intended) about a bit of shuffling of the decks between Thai front men for whoever their utimate boss is.... 1

DezFox Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 Some hope creeping in here, don’t do it to yourselves. It will be Martin, probs just sorting back room staff out and removing any clauses that work in our favour. 1
Torten Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 Thanks for making this thread go hot and giving me false hope fellas
CrispinLA in Texas Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 He might go to crystal Palace if Glasner is poached

I have absolutely no idea when top will get off his horse and press ‘post’ I can't recall us ever announcing the sacking of a manager at the same time as revealing his replacement, so on that basis you'd think the club will announce RVN's departure first. Yet it's now three days after the end of the season and RVN remains in post. Why would the club delay announcing RVN's departure if it has definitely decided to sack him? What purpose would it serve? Unless of course they really are trying to push his compensation until the next accounting period - which should begin on 1 July but I believe may possibly be adjusted to 1 June...
BDW-11 Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 We all know unfortunately this wont happen - would be very surprised if it did. A young, upcoming manager who has done a decent job with a club with less funds, worse facilities and (on paper) worse players... makes far too much sense for Top and co to pay compensation for him. Announce Martin and get it over and done with - until about November when the Sean Dyche rumours start up again anyway...
fox_favourite Posted 28 May 2025 Posted 28 May 2025 Danny Rohl would be a preferred appointment from me. But he'll need to bring in a new coaching staff and a good setup. But a new DoF is a must as well. Hopefully, we know more soon. But I'm guessing not good news

Give your reasons showing all your workings out, also proving you are not under the influence of something narcotic (or skinny jeans). And saying 'hes banging Lucy Pinder' does not count. Martin might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but at least he has a vision. This club needs a vision. Top clearly wanted that two years ago when he appointed Enzo – a progressive coach, possession-based football and then completely panicked last season with Cooper. No direction, no identity. Martin’s football won’t suit everyone, but we’ve got players who are keen to play that way and actually capable of doing it at Championship level. Think about how Winks, Mavididi, Ricardo, and could thrive ago in a high-possession, build-from-the-back system. Yes, it’d need serious recruitment if we go back up. You can’t rock up to the Prem with a budget version of that style and expect to stay up. But that’s true of most managers we could bring in. The difference with Martin is you know what you're buying into. The way his teams play is clear, structured, and it does in fact work when given the time and tools. He’s not another dinosaur saying gerrit forward. So might not be perfect, but it’s a plan. And after the last couple of years, that would be a massive step in the right direction. FYI - Im sober and havent fit into a pair of skinny jeans since 2016

FYI - Im sober and havent fit into a pair of skinny jeans since 2016 It's a plan that recent history tells us a) a significant portion of the fanbase, whether justified or not, will never get behind and b) has a very good chance of unravelling in spectacular fashion upon contact with the Premier League, should it take us that far which is no guarantee. I don't think it's the very worst appointment we could make but it's one I would struggle to muster any enthusiasm for whatsoever and would do very little to dispel either the general feeling of misery around the club or the sense that the people running it do so with as little effort and imagination as possible. 1
