Love this thread. I was at home watching with my wife. Incredible nerves. Winning the league was fantastic but like a lot of Leicester fans the FA Cup was the monkey on our back. I remember the finals in 63 and 69 and every year getting knocked out. That goal was the most euphoric moment. Then the nerves got even worse. "Don't lose it now lads" Wife  was genuinely worried about my heart rate at this stage. The sinking feeling as Chelsea appear to score. Look again offside! The final whistle tears, joy and relief. My daughter calls (she was 6 months pregnant) "Dad Dad we've won" Kasper collects the cup and the lid flies off. How I love Maroon. The goal was a thing of beauty to rank with the best cup final goals. Did anyone who did go see yourself on the tv later? Great scenes young and old.

yeah you've got to love a lid-flying-off cup lift

Any links to the full BBC programme anywhere? It was up on Iplayer for a while. Lots of stuff on youtube but I'd love to see all the build up again.

Went into the game thinking we didn't really stand much of a chance to be honest, but if you don't buy a ticket... Hoped for the best and kept the usual supersticious routines. When Tielemans scored, I can't remember much. I was off the sofa and next thing I remember I was in the kitchen lol. Same happened the night Hazard scored for Chelsea, only difference was that I scared the F out the cat and she didn't come home for a day.

Chillwell boiled my piss with his celebration. I was so happy once it was twigged as offside. It's always the same with VAR. It's shite when it goes against you or wastes time in a game, but when it goes for you it's the best thing ever.

And then the following season on the same day we were getting stuffed 3-0 by Liverpool at home on our way to relegation with Dean Smith trying to rearrange the deckchairs on the Titanic.

Edit: wrong anniversary.... Went to the Cup Final, sat in D. Beckham's box with my mate who's from Leicester and six Chelsea fans.... who were in actual dismay.

I was sat bang in line with it and the guy next to me was a Chelsea fan and he said 'well that won't count' the moment it went in.

Usually VAR is the first thing that pops into my head after a goal is scored now, unless it's an absolute screamer, but weirdly on that occasion it didn't. I just remember thinking there was no way we'd score again because we'd brought on Morgan and Hamza.

Watched it with a few on here in Stratford shopping centre, including FT legend Strider.

Was a surreal experience due to outdoor and rule of 6 at the time, there was a point we thought we'd need to watch the trophy lift on someone's phone lol.  A good day out though especially with the result.

Youri's goal felt like it went in in slow motion.

Yep, he'd taken off every player capable of scoring a goal and was going for squeaky bum victory - I thought the same.

Sat at home on my own and watched it, remember it being quite a cold and rainy day. Didn't think we would win it, speechless when we did. Wife said 'we should probably go for a drink' as I was speechless for hours after ft, got the train to St Albans and sat in a freezing cold covid pub area and had a few Guinness. Went to a pottery making class and made a mug saying 'FA CUP WINNERS 2021' the next day.

Doesn't feel like it ever happened as I did not attend a single match in the campaign.

Rogers did invite more pressure after we scored. Got away with it.

You've got a mug to prove it!

Actually managed to get a ticket 3 days before the game, and get my Covid test done in time. Best decision I ever made, what a day

Watched it from my bedroom on my shit little temporary TV setup as I was balls deep recovering from Covid. Had to isolate from the family for a week as that was the ‘rules’ to do when you had it at the time.

I remember sucking Salt & Vinegar Walkers crisps all day, trying to get the taste but couldn’t taste **** all. Horrid.

Some sh1tbag at work broke it. So now I have the handle stuck to my desk as a reminder to any happy clapper in the office not to come near my things, to prove it

Coming back off holiday.

Cos you might as well book a holiday cup final week, cos we're never going to be in it, right?

Right!?

I was there, managed to get a ticket the Wednesday before the game and randomly met Andy King outside Wembley before the game, some crazy scenes on the train back home afterwards

Watched it at home with my kids and had my parents over.. great to watch us finally get the FA Cup as three generations of us.

Almost burst a blood vessel when Youri scored.. but I think the goal being chalked off was the loudest I've ever cheered

Absolutely fantastic

Could of got a ticket for myself but chose not to as I wanted to watch with my dad and the COVID stasi bollox was farcical.

It was glorious but in the tier list of Leicester days maybe number 4 for me after Hillsborough 97, Lifting the Prem and Wembley 94.

It was as good as a goal for us, as well as the Final Whistle all in one

The only time I've been to a game, feeling certain we'd be winning that day. I'm not a particularly spiritual person but I just felt so sure we'd do it for Vichai.

It was all a bit strange. I was on my own, loads of empty seats and the world was a mess/blur. I barely remember a thing about the day, but what a goal, and the feeling when VAR chalked off their goal!!!

I cant believe it's only 4 years. You couldn't destroy a club as quickly as we have if you tried.

Happy to celebrate the anniversary of the sound of that thunderous shot near the end by Mason Mount with the ball slapping loudly off Kasper's hand.

It was an unbelievable save.

Maybe the noise of the save came through the telly because the microphone was near a bit of the ground not obscured by crowd noise due to Covid restrictions.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/57129639

I think of that save about as much as I think of Youri's goal.

I was at home in Glasgow and did the exact same same I did when we won the league - walking around my house staring ahead in disbelief muttering "Ah doont believe it"  lol

[Edit to add, I think that's Jenas on co-comms on the link.  So glad he's off our tellies]

I was there. Right behind the goal. Unbelievable noise, atmosphere, scenes. Funnily enough, I seen Tielemans last night at the co-op car park in Barrow.

Saw him there last Friday too. He loves that Co-op

Remember when people thought Kasper was part of the reason of our demise and were glad to see the back of him?

I’d get a years ban for airing my real thoughts on them.
