There's absolutely an adjustment period but something has definitely gone wrong in that dressing room.

Brought in too many new players maybe and obviously no doubt affected by losing TAA and tragically Jota .

Just watching MOTD. Lo and behold, one of Sunderlands goals comes from a long throw. And their second comes from a punt over the top from their CB.

Possession football outwitted by direct football. Who on earth thought that would be possible eh @Finnegan

What I don’t understand is why they ever stopped being a thing? This was my point throughout the whole ridiculous, ‘the games changed’ or ‘nobody plays that way any more’ argument. The game HADN’T changed. There was still 11 men on each side, on a football pitch the same size, with goal posts the same size.

It was a really shite argument back then, but why NOW have players/managers decided to go back to a long throw into the box rather than throw it 5 yards to the full back who’d then pass it back to the keeper?

A long throw, a punt over the top from a keeper/ centre back have always been a route into the box or a way to switch defence into attack.

Why has the mentality suddenly reverted back, at the drop of a hat? Why has the football snobbery of fans repeating what they’ve heard Gary Neville say suddenly stopped?

And what makes me chuckle is seeing teams like wolves thinking they can out pass Man city, or west ham thinking they can out pass Liverpool....yeah how did that turn out?

They probably realised the majority of the modern defenders lack of intelligence. In every single game a couple of them go to instant panic mode when the ball is in the box and their positioning is awful.

Direct football was always the most efficient way to play the sport. Quick ball touches, through balls and intelligent runs into the space is how football should be played.

I quite like Sky Sports' multi-box viewing for all 4 Sunday games. You can find it on the Sky Golf channel this afternoon.

It's a bit like NFL's Redzone with all of them on display but switching between which one is the main screen when something looks like happening.

First time I've noticed it this season.

I said that Wolves gaffer had late November sacking written through him like a stick of rock after their opening day defeat, looks like being sooner at this rate

Hasn’t be not long signed a new contract as well?

Arsenal need to win here today if they seriously want to win the league this season

This is the best opportunity they've had at it in 20 years. The rest of the contenders are all showing that they can be beaten any given week.

Yeah it is a big season for them isn’t it. Just need to grind out some nasty 1-0 wins when everyone else loses to give themselves  a chance

No I wouldn’t either I still think Man City will come good and go on a silly run of wins at some point

Burnley 2 up

Wolves are so so bad

2nd goal should have been ruled out for a foul, but yeah we are shit.

Both of our full-back replacements we bought in the summer can't get a game and instead are relying on players who were out on loan last season and aren't ultimately good enough.

Not to mention all of our attacking signings have done absolutely nothing for us yet.
