He'll keep them up but it'll be a drab season and a massive comedown from the last 2 seasons they've experienced.

Can't imagine they'll be getting far in Europe either...

Exactly. Everton fans were happy initially with him but he stabilises and then you stagnate as a club.

The Great Scriptwriter has got Forest's storyline spot on. I'm delighted, as it will inflict maximum pain on their fans.

Going from "can we do a Leicester" and "Champions League - back where we belong" – which made them think of Marinakis and Nuno as gods – to a situation where they are now questioning Marinakis and have Dyche.

Beautiful. The stagnation and Dyche's methods will also mean that Gibbs-White and Anderson will want to leave next summer. The rest will take care of itself.

Well played.

This is unusual type wording in a manager announcement right?

And it's all happened so quickly. I get more joy out of watching them **** up than I do watching Leicester nowadays

When Dyche was linked with us I shuddered at the thought, but since I’ve read up on him and it’s a pretty lazy thought process due to his more direct nature. And probably because he’s English.

it’s a very sensible appointment for them, he plays similar to Nuno and they have the players for that. It also brings back old favourites Woan and Stone so the fans will be behind them.

He did a great job at Everton, people forget he had two points deductions and no transfer funds.

They will sell one of those anyway for FFP, and it’s not like Dyche falls out with players, a good man manager. Sadly it looks a good fit.

It's a decent fit and will stabilise them, think he suits the players they have. Mind you they've spent a chunk of money sacking two managers to end up with a worse manager.

West Ham could go you know. Their fans have thrown the towel in worse than ours have as well!

Their game reminded me a lot of our game against them last season.

If they still had Mbuemo it would have been 4 or 5.

It's so that Marianakis can claim no responsibility of it goes wrong. And it gives him more patsys to fire if they get relegated.

Forest won't get relegated. They need to use Dyche for 2 seasons. Stay up this year, stabilize next season and then push on for another manager because Dyche isn't the long term answer.

Of course, I hope it all goes wrong for them lol.

Dyche's appointment will likely suit their squad based on Nuno's work previously. He should slot in and they will survive this season. He will save them from a catastrophic, topsy-turvy season where results and experimentation would have drawn them into real danger.

Beyond this season, will he really be as effective as Nuno? He had a very good season with Burnley and did well with them overall but was still relegated once and was sacked late on in another relegation season.

And at Everton, where he was in the job for a couple of years, they regressed massively and would have been in a relegation battle with us and Ipswich had it not been for his sacking and Moyes's appointment.

If they do survive this season, as I expect they will, I imagine they'll be firmly in a relegation battle next season.

I think Dyche is due a really bad one, hopefully it's now. Do think the Forest squad suits him though, maybe too many brazilians for his liking but they proved under Nuno they can be strong and counter attacking.

West Ham look everything you look for in a relegated side.

Imagine telling a Forest fan in early April while sitting 3rd in the league that they’d have Dyche in charge in 6 months. What a mess Mr Marianpeopletraffickerakis has made.

weird to announce it, unless you're a wildly incompetently run club, this is just the normal recruitment process
