Braybrooke and Golding not being in Austria says that they won’t be involved in the first team squad or we didn’t have enough room at the camp for them and all the deadwood we’re trying to shift (but can’t afford not to take them re transfer valuations)

In the central areas we have a lot of players in front of them, Winks, Skipp, Ndidi, Soumare, Khannouss, Alves.

We are unlikely to loan out Page, so I can see these both being up for loan.

They both need to be playing games.

Braybrooke especially needs a season of regular men’s football. I think the sad reality is he’s probably done here now, if he goes on loan and shines then he might still have a chance. Last season he needed a good loan, for whatever reason it didn’t work out and it’s put his development back another year. Such a shame as he looked a lovely footballer before his ACL injury. He’ll be 22 soon so it really is a make or break season for him and he has to play games

Golding was a PSR fiddle, haven’t got a massive sample size of performances to critique him on, but from what I have seen he’s never stood out. He’s only just turned 19 though, I wouldn’t be opposed to keeping him around, training with the first time and then look to a loan in January

Braybrooke really needed to have a standout hour last week against Leuven and being honest he was steady and safe but didn’t really show enough whereas Aluko, Monga, Page, Evans, Alves & Joseph have looked more confident and prepared to try and impact the game.

I think both Braybrooke and Golding need a make or break season at L1 or L2 level to toughen up, get minutes under their belts and a chance to shine.

Also we are highly unlikely to loan out any of those due to their ages, whilst Braybrooke and Golding are are older and easier to send out on loan.

We the influx of kids we have a massive squad.

Liam McAlinney who got released by us has joined OH Leuven on a 2 year deal.

If we were Chelsea he would have been sold for at least 15 million.

Any insight on him?

Was decent enough enough until he turned into the incredible hulk last summer and then became a ponderous lump of muscle for all of last season

Outside chance he could turn it around I guess as at the younger age groups he was very good

Haven't seen it advertised anywhere but the U21's are playing here at Brackley Town tonight, KO 7.45pm. 22nd July.

 Brackley Town v Leicester City U21s - PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY - Tuesday 22nd July 2025 - KO 7:45pm

I’ll be at the game tonight as it’s just over 10 mins from home, and in all my time as a ST holder I’ve never watched the U21 side

Ironically now I’m not a ST for the first time since 1990s I’ll be at a match featuring the U21 side

With these being both my teams I’ll probably remain neutral tonight.

Looking forward to the game a lot

You'll hopefully see a lot of U18 level as given the amount of 21's who have gone to Austria/Now part of first team, I imagine we're having to fill some gaps.

I’d imagine we have a few u21 trialists play too?

Yeah we're probably 8 or 9 players light squad wise!

Lived in Brackley for too long to remember myself. Only just remembered this was on when Banny reminded me.

Brackleys my old local side as well. They’ve put a decent squad together for their first national league campaign, would be a good location for a couple of loans. Hopefully some of the u21s put themselves in the shop window

Lost 2-1 but clearly the better side in my opinion. Got done with a couple of corners and physicality. Braybrooke, Wilson-Brown and Cover, amongst others, played the last 30 minutes. Pretty impressive to be honest and the Academy seem to be in good hands.

Enjoyed the evening tonight, felt odd as I didn't know who to support at times but enjoyed it nonetheless.

Leicester attacked with speed and in the first half #7 and #9 worked real well together.

It's a long way up the leagues from NL to PL and there's certainly a lot of quality youngsters at Leicester.

It will be interesting to see how the NL Cup fares differently compared to a friendly game.

I'd say that will be Brackley's first XI for the first game by looks of it.

343 crowd tonight, a little lower than expected but I think most enjoyed an evening of live football
