Reforms only real policy is to reduce immigration. Just think if we had a Government who would actually sort that then Reform would be completley irrelevant. Conservatives reign of drastically increasing immigration and Labour doing nothing about it has only made Reform stronger. Completley the fault of the current and previous Government this is.

Get legal immigration down to 10s of thousands. Sort the illegal boat crossings. Change the law so that immigrants who commit serious crimes cant find a loophole to stop their deportation. Do all that and then Farage and Reform will not be an issue

And sadly such is the absolute obsession with the subject within certain demographics in this country, that's all they need focus on.

The country already ****ed itself into oblivion with the Brexit vote because of immigration (and this was what it was about, make no mistake). The electorate are very capable of doing it again.

They're both the same party

They're not, but one of them, which wants to spend on public services and public good, has to balance the books to avoid being sneered at.

The other party, who historically have run bigger deficits over the last 50 years, are believed to be economically tighter, and are quite happy to keep pushing versions of austerity and his economics, despite the fact austerity leads to stagnation and terrible public services. They can spend what they like in the form of tax cuts and nobody bats an eyelid.

It is true though that the Tories really don't deserve to be treated like they're economically competent.

I'll come back to this after the budget

Currently going through the visa process to go and live in Europe because we took back control and people are still losing their minds over immigration. What an unbelievable **** up and complete waste.

Whilst immigration needs to be controlled, it really isn't the biggest problem, it's probably not even in the top 5.

Btw, I love the idea of sending less aid abroad... so people will have to come here for it.

Seriously - how thick are people?

For final clarity on the flotilla - aid across all the boats totalled 2 tonnes.   That’s like 2 ford transits.  And yet hundreds of thousands across Europe are protesting (in at least one case violently) that this hasn’t been allowed to arrive in Gza.

some positive news is that someone has been arrested for the peacehaven mosque fire attack at the weekend

Another bit of positive news is that thanks to the distraction posed by the flotilla, at least some Gazans were able to go out in their boats and fish.

On that note, how inhumane is it that the blockade stops them even reaching a subsistence level of getting food on that score anyway?

Just to clarify - because I'm fine either way, but I'd like to know, cos two sides, yadda, yadda - according to who? Cos I'd expect different stories and it'll essentially come down to who you want to believe.

Though as ready to believe/disbelieve either sides. I guess I'm more interested in, say for example, did the IDF say this and then Ms Thunberg & co say, yeah, fair enough, you got us.

Current immigration policy is a product of economic decline over two decades, lack of growth and lack of opportunities for British workers. Gaps need filling, the economy needs to run, it’s a race to the bottom and pulling up the drawbridge will accelerate it.

It is telling that most Brits still seem to think immigration is still something that happens to us, not something millions of Brits themselves do, and that voting to reduce it may actually blow back in their own faces. Strange when you consider Anglos spread around the world more than almost any other tribe in history.

It doesn’t help your cause when most of the images are of a load of blokes on the lash peeing up walls with flags wrapped round them. They look pretty looney to me.

Not sure about the veracity of that video Mac - those fishermen looked to be wearing clothes that didn’t reflect temps in the upper twenties

the official x account of the flotilla tweeted yesterday that it wasn’t about the volume of aid on the boats - take from that what you wish to.

Possibly so, independent verification would of course be nice however the facts about the blockade stand for themselves and further distractions may at least offer a chance for something like this to be done (again).
