I actually think that his base would vote for him, even if he literally shot them in the face first.

However, I'm holding onto some vain hope that Americans aren't as f***ing stupid as they look at the moment and stop this happening.

 

 

MAGA treat him like following a sports team, it's not politics to them, with all due respect most of them don't have the political literacy (or probably actual literacy) to really follow current events. They don't give a shit. He's just their guy, it's not really about him it's just about "winning" against the "other team." 

 

But a shit load of people voted for Trump because they thought he'd be good for them financially. They bought in to the Fox News lie that the economy was terrible because of Biden and that Trump could fix it because he's a businessman (it's ****ing hilarious how terrible a businessman but that's another matter.)

 

Pretty sure the majority of Americans are appreciating now that wasn't a good idea. Prices are still going up for everything and he's been straight up unhinged for the last two years.

I saw simulation of how the south tower collapsed. Most people think the tower just fell in on itself and that adds grist to the mill of the tin foil hat brigade 

 

I’ve no idea of this is accurate btw

The documentary by the Naudet brothers is an unbelievable real time account of 9/11. I’m not actually sure how well known it is as I only saw it recently. 
 

Two French brothers were filming a documentary with a fire department when it all kicks off. Pretty sure that’s the only footage of the first plane hitting. One of them films from inside Tower 1 when Tower 2 collapses it’s like something from a film. 
 

It’s on YouTube, obviously heavy going but it’s surreal.

I'd just got home from school and put Sky Sports News on, they had a ticker underneath with a message to turn to Sky News for America Under Attack, or similar. Turned it on and saw footage of the second plane hitting with the opposite tower smouldering.

 

Footage of people jumping out of windows probably wouldn't be broadcast today in a live situation but I remember it vividly. A terrible thing to witness.

 

I visited Ground Zero in 2010 and I couldn't believe the actual size of the space, it seemed way smaller than I had imagined it to be. Cortland Street Subway was still closed after the collapse of the towers. 

 

I was 15 and had my first away day the Saturday following 9/11 away at Derby, we won 3-2 when Savage won a penalty in the last minute.

I wonder about your source of news given she is a Democrat? Of Somali origin it seems a little unlikely she could be a Republican under a Trump presidency. Currently married to a white American. Don't know about her previous husband(s) though

That's a reasonable position to take tbh. 

 

Unfortunately though, far too much of the actions of the sociopaths over there is bleeding over into action in the UK, thanks to various forms of media.

I read some stuff about this some time ago 

 

the accusation that she married him or he married her on the basis that one of them was allowed to be in the USA.  Can’t recall which one.  I didn’t pay much attention because it looked questionably sourced and biased.

There have been more than this, too. Unfortunately the "good ol boys" network still exists in authority across large parts of the US, and most of them have been ruled as suicides despite being suspicious and the simple fact that any black person with even an inkling of racist history (and that's practically all of them) would not choose that method to end their life for exactly that reason.

Saw this story earlier in the week, when the story was more about the police doing  nothing or little about it (images of some fat sheriff with his shirt barely buttoned, chewing tobacco, with his feet up on the desk).

 

At least they've finally got the ball rolling.

What is the more likely possibility here - that black people are suddenly choosing to go out that way, or that the modern equivalent of the Klan is trying to flex its muscles once more?
