Can you imagine if residents of Normandy demanded to march through Hastings every year?

 

Or Russians went matching through Berlin?

 

Perhaps a B-29 flying over Hiroshima on VJ Day?

 

Why can't these thick people realise literally no other people do this kind of thing? This is over something that happened almost 400 years ago.

This farmer trying to get her 15 minutes and a few newspaper payouts. Claims she raised the alarm at half 1 in the morning or whatever but apparently police had already been notified at 00:36 or something and also trying to say how bad it is that she had to be the one to raise the alarm when she clearly didn't. Wants a bit of false saviour attention. I am going to bet she is on the front page of The Sun tomorrow. Doing the media rounds a bit already today.

All of those are between winners and losers of conflict. No one won or lost in Northern Ireland and it's still divided across political and sometimes religious lines. A better example would be the israeli's organising a march across the parts of Gaza that still stand. 

Will never change the Northern Irish folks. They are a different breed of folks and will do what they think is right. Me and my father in law who was raised in West Belfast throughout the start of The Troubles and has been on the orange march have had some run ins like that. The family is also tight as anything and you tow the line or left behind. Part of the unionist front is falling away with age and the youth are more loyalist. That may also be led by it being more fun to resist by standing in the street and protest than sticking an organge banner on and marching. Both sides in Belfast from time to time still enjoy a session of hurling bricks at PSNI or eachother. 


Sorry, to answer your question, they aren't thick, they are proud Northern Irishmen who want to do something they feel they have the right to vs proud Northern Irishmen who don't want something to happen as they feel they have the right to stop it.

According to the BBC, the woman wishes to remain anonymous. If that's the case, it's an odd way to try to get 15 minutes of fame.

And I am sure the tabloids won't be able to track them down in moments to throw money at her for a scoop. They would never do something so underhand....

Also she said she spotted them as they were near her house (maybe on her land? I may be wrong there). The Sun will have knocked every door in that village this morning or been outside that leisure centre trying to find her.

We have large groups of Germans (mainly teenagers) marching through Hastings most days so far since August. Can't see what they're getting from it, maybe they're just hunting for decent fish n chips?

Found her and doing interviews! Wanting to be anonymous doesn't mean you ain't wanting your 15 minutes. 

 

Now saying there were more than 5 and her now having a ding dong with the defence secretary. She wants attention and money. Could have said what she said, have Streeting say she doesn't know the full facts and then move on, but she wanted to reply and keep herself in the spotlight and now the headlines are leading with that, Farage being Farage and forcing them to tell us where these folks lived and what nationality they are and Burnham having a hand slightly forced to COBRA tonight and then come out with some details or claims they had known about these guys for some time etc etc. At which point she will be on the news again or in the papers tomorrow to say how thats not right and it's a cover up and all this bollocks.

Sounds pretty stupid to me that you can't come to some kind of agreement after 400 years.

 

Everyone says they want to live in peace, yet so many want to cause conflict. Your rights will ultimately impinge on what someone else considers to be their rights and what you're proud of, someone else will find completely unimportant.

 

If grown adults can't just shake hands and live peacefully together... To me that's the definition of being thick, that is, not unintelligent, but rather a wilful refusal to use your intelligence for the common good.
