Dangle a war and everyone will forget about the remaining 99% of unreleased Epstein papers.

Every time someone mentions them he threatens another country with a war or tariffs hoping it goes away. They are like 3-4 weeks past the deadline set for them to release them now

TACO?

Sounds like it....for now.

C4 News quoted him saying he was cancelling his proposed tariffs as he'd just had a great meeting with NATO boss Mark Rutte and they'd agreed a framework deal for Greenland's security.

Perhaps Rutte called him "Daddy" again and it made all the difference?

Thinking about it, maybe Rutte was being smarter than I realised calling Trump "Daddy", as he clearly has Daddy issues.

By all accounts, his father was a horrible, domineering man, super-critical and demanding obedience. He even features - as a carnt of our time - in Woody Guthrie's memoir "Bound for Glory".

Donald was the golden boy who followed in his Daddy's footsteps adopting all his horrible attitudes - whereas his elder brother ended up drinking himself to death at least partly because Daddy Trump was so hostile and dismissive towards his "failure" of a career, opting to become an airline pilot...

Spot on, and the uk is probably worse at this than all. Sums up many leaders and past leaders of the uk especially who seemed to want to divide our own continent and just suck up to the USA.

Zelensky says President Trump "won't change".

"Some European leaders are from Europe, but not for Europe," he says. He adds that some Europeans are "really strong," before saying they "always need someone else to tell them how long they need to stand strong for".

That's not how great powers work, he says.

"America is changing its position," he continues, "but no one knows exactly how. Things move faster, how can Europe keep up with that?"

He says Europe faces challenges to the "European way of life".

One of the issues is that Brits don't see themselves yet as a "middle power" in Carney's words. We still like to see ourselves as an almost equal partner in an Anglo-American relationship that deserves to run the world.

Zelenskyy sounded like he’d had to accept a compromise deal that he didn’t want to and was blaming the European nations for not standing up to putin - half hearted sanctions that weren’t enforced properly, still using Russian energy, etc etc

For some reason the British think that having having the 6th largest economy in world means something.

Economic power isn't the only factor at play, sadly. To say nothing of the gap between the top 2 at the present time and everyone else.

Japan certainly don't try to market themselves as a global first-rate power simply because their economy is pretty big and has as much cultural history as the UK, for instance.

There isn't any point pretending that we aren't in the top echelons of global power either, even if acting downtrodden and putting ourselves down is a national past-time.

If we are treating us as a middle power like Canada or Japan, then the only large powers are now the USA and China. Weirdly Trump thinks Russia is there when the only thing about it that is large is its landmass.

Which is absolutely true at the present time and given the gap between them and everyone else on the vast majority of metrics used to measure such things, it would be foolhardy to argue otherwise imo.

Do agree with the judgement on Russia, though - the only reason they still punch in anywhere near a reasonable weight class is the amount of Cold War era killing machines they still possess.

Used to possess, gone missing in Ukraine now.

They are still relevant as Trump talks about them as if they are one of the Big 3. I don't think he has realised they are state in every metric as he likes noshing off Putin too much.

Absolutely no disagreement there.
