Is this a repeat of last nights speech, I only listened to bits, not the full hour but it was weird.

 

He did sound like he was on deaths door and kept holding up photos of the really bad people.

usa will have Greenland Monday to Friday and Denmark at weekends 

 

trump has checked with his good friends pres xi and putin and they’ve said they’d never attack at weekends

My take aways from the small but I watched on YouTube...

 

Apparently USA valiantly defended Greenland in WW2.

 

Which Germany never showed the slightest interest in.

 

Oh yes, and Greenland is strategically placed between USA, Russia and China.

 

Well I guess if China were to strike south, over Antarctica and then onwards across Brazil, they could get to Greenland without crossing Russia or USA.

 

NB. Some of the comments on the videos, in support of a clearly deranged madman, are downright scary.

A lot of Trump's speech reminds me of Brexiters attitudes towards Europe - you need us more than we need you, we saved you in WWII, be more grateful, you'll fall apart without us. It's basically just a big Anglo hissy fit that the world is changing and people don't look towards Anglo-America to spread peace and prosperity as much as they used to (if they ever did). It's like a middle-aged, booze-addled Eastenders character screaming "you're nuffink wivvout me!" as their partner turns and heads towards the entrance to Walford East underground station, never to return.

What doesn't help Trump is stating he wants Greenland become America. If it was about Greenland remaining part of Denmark but the US basing there military there and being allowed to control the seas alongside Denmark then that's sounds a better compromise but no Trump acting as like he wants to make Greenland another state of america and stick the US flag in the middle of Greenland.

 

What america could have done is use Greenland as like we use Cyprus as vital military base even though Cyprus does not belong to us. Even though our troops are there we have no say of what goes on in Cyprus, just a base. Trump just wants power as does Putin.

Trump over the years as been so used bribing and buying his way out of things he now realises as president it doesn't always work out there way, problem now he has the military at his elm to do what he wants. Though surely their military must be thinking "why should we invade and attack a country which offers no threat to us or others?"
