Apparently the women's game has fixture congestion issues whilst it has a tiny sized league.  So a cup competition will have CL clubs not taking part at all.

Maybe it would help if they started the season before September and stopped all the mid season breaks.  Cut internationals of which is too many.

The game is in a worst state than the men's in terms of priority of what games are played, integrity and so forth.

Surely the next game will be a sell out, with a chance to see that derriere

She definitely needs to be on corners and throw in duties

I’ve just been speaking to a Villa fan about Lehmann, apparently she’s a ****ing nightmare and will end up being a PR headache 😂 she will initially sell shirts, and has a massive social media presence, but she said that eventually that all diminishes and eventually she just causes loads of problems on and off the pitch. She is apparently quite vocal and open about things, so she might expose how shit we actually are as a club 😂

She'll get on well with Winks then!!

This type of signing makes me less interested than I was before, not only are we stuck with a PL clone but now seemingly signing players because they are football celebrity.

Expose how shit we are as a club is not going to take much doing

We need to build the club in some way, you can't sign good players if those players are just not really aware of your club.

She's not going to singlehandedly win us games and I think everyone admits she's not a top quality player, but she's an improvement on what we have.

And just look at how much activity there has been on this thread in the past 24 hours. It's been busier than I have ever seen it.

Brings bums on seats and eyes on our games, whether we like it or not.

I’ve said for a long time we needed that marquee signing, I think initially it’ll put bums on seats as you say, although I’ve just had a look at sales for Sunday and it’s grim. The kick off times are killing it.

Lehmann isn’t the best player, she brings the media circus,, however it will encourage others to follow, we just have to make sure they are the right fit for the team, I fear she isn’t personality wise but time will tell.

I do not understand the insistence on Sunday at noon. it clashes so perfectly with the kids leagues and is basically cutting a generation of match going fans out

We've had quite a bit of investment in the womens team over the transfer window. That investment is offset the PSR calculations for the mens team is it not? Or is i not quite that simple.

I don’t think the women’s team comes into it. But losing Howard, Momiki, Cayman, Rose, Mace all would have been on decent salaries it’s just been one in one out prior to Lehmann who breaks that mould.

It's a massive bone of contention, particularly personally as I coach my daughters U8 team, fortunately if we're playing at home, our kick-off times give us enough time to play and get up to the KP, but if we're playing away, often the kick off times are slightly later and we have a choice to make.

It is cutting out a generation, not only to be fans of WSL, but potentially be inspired into playing.

I'm also involved in grassroots women and girls football and fully agree with your comments.

More generally it seems to me that the new body that took over running the WSL seems to be doing its best to hide it away.  Playing most matches at the same time reduces the league's visibility.  The League Cup is the same - the semi-finals were between the big 4 but both kicked off at 7pm on Wednesday.  Why not have them on separate days?  There seems to be an obsession with trying to avoid having too many matches clash with men's matches but that assumes they have the same audience.  There will obviously be crossover but they need to show more faith in the women's game to find its own audience - and if it doesn't, so be it.  But give it a chance by spreading out the games to make them more visible and getting rid of 12pm Sunday kick-offs.

And as for Lehmann, I don't see that a social media following will translate into any extra attendees at the KP and she'll add next to nothing to the team.  I think it's a dreadful signing, but I suppose at least the club are trying something different so good on them for that even if I don't expect it to work on any level.

🤞 she says it exactly likes it is and fully exposes these charlatans

Off the topic of the moment.

I've just watched the Spurs game extended highlights from the FA cup (late i know).

We were totally our own worst enemy, it seemed like all the goals are from our own errors and 3-0 definitely flattered them. We didn't create a lot ourselves (no surprises there), but it shows we can hold our own, we really just need to stamp out these daft mistakes.

Can we at least let her play a single game for us before deciding she's a cancer in the squad FFS.
