I love how BBC has an all female cast and comms but then when it comes to the Men's game they have to get a women on there, it's like MOTD will now have two female hosts.

Never been a fan of the BBC though and there gender agenda.

its probably a wages thing:brendan:

Yet the two female hosts are probably two of the best sports hosts and have been covering/hosting not just football but many different sports for a long long time.

But no doubt he was fine when it was all men for decades.  Gender agenda...jeez LOL.

The only thing that I dislike and it’s no prejudice is that the female comms seem to try that little bit harder and it just sounds that little bit more forced than it does with male commentators. Of course there are some bad male commentators and plenty of times they rightly get called out.

Gabby Logan, Kate Abdo, Laura Woods as programme anchors are better than some male anchors, even Kelly Somers is really good. Maybe part of the problem is that we’ve been used to it be male fronted. On some parts, it’s largely ignorance from some.

Kelly and Agyemang both on the bench again, and James once again starting. I feel Serina is making a huge mistake here, as Spain are far better than some of the teams we’ve played during this tournament.

Carter back in, slightly surprising for me.

Yeah was thinking the same she was terrible against Sweden and thought Morgan did alright last game.

James starting as well who probably isn’t a 100% , Kelly changed the game last few games and as good as James is you need players today that are going to put a shift in as we might not have much of the ball and James isn’t going to do that and risk an injury .

Spain don’t play like Sweden or France, I think Carter will be fine.  She should be at LB rather than CB though, so Greenwood can play in her best role - we’ll see later if Sarina sees it the same way.

I have little hopes as Spain are such a strong team.

C'mon England though!

The odds on us to win tonight are lower than they were for us to win the tournament 2 weeks ago. Mad that.

Know I can't tell Wiegman much and i get why you might want to stick with what you could call a formula, but Hemp and Russo have been crap all tournament and after they've both stunk up the gaff Kelly and Agyemang have dragged us through the knockouts.

Poor selection really Carter and James should have been on the bench and Kelly should have started

It's a cautious approach as in" if it ain't broke don't fix it" while Kelly might have more of an impact coming off the bench provided we are still in the match.

Not just this tournament but a lot of football pre match broadcasting is banal time filling. A lot of this could be cut in half

She's Southgate without a Y chromosome basically.

Don’t mind Russo starting because she will run all game and give the defenders no time to relax and then we can bring agyemang on later on . She does need to take any chances she gets today though .

although she has a trophy cabinet

And some trophies to put in it! Not optimistic tonight, but hoping that makes for a less stressful watch. Someone (not here) pointed out that Spain don't play like France or Sweden (!) so Carter will be fine but Spain can still be quick down the wings when they want and I'm fearful that Carter will left adrift again. Really hope not.

Hello Lugs! Then you're not alone! Think I heard it on the radio as I dived for match snackerels before the shops shut. And it's a valid point, but it felt like teams targeted Carter because of her pace and some questionable passes under pressure, and I just felt Morgan was steadier. Who knows, she may score the winner as everyone's up in the 94th minute for a corner.

I put it on Digital Spy, so if you heard it on the radio it was someone else of the same opinion.  I think Greenwood adds so much at centre back so either Carter or Charles has to go to left back.  Neither is a great option.  We’ll see how they actually line up very shortly.
