I didn’t say he would. I said once we are in the same league if they come up, they would likely try.

Barnes and KDH didn’t want to leave did they? They got pushed because of our financial position. Obviously they moved upwards so not the same.

They would know how much hes on to know that it would be a complete waste of time. Im sure the player would say he wants to crack on here as well. The club is fckd but its not quite at having your better players poached by Chesterfield just yet

He's on 4,000 to 5,000 a week apparently, which is standard for league one. It would need to be their record signing though, which is currently £400,000.

Shows the level of mismanagement at this club that we might be competing in the same league with the transfer fees and wages we have spent.

Falkirk fans with some positive words about Cartwright today. Apparently played well and added some “metal” to their midfield

What’s his contract situation?

Braybrooke only has a year on his contract come this summer.

If Chesterfield win the playoffs and come up the L1, might they poach him from us? It’s a concern…

So funny you had to laugh twice, glad to have amused you

To be fair, I realise it sounded extreme. But it’s no funnier or unrealistic than the p amount of posts suggesting we will sign James permanently or sign Dom Ballard or Pierce Charles etc!

Apparently ends in the summer

Not sure that's the case.  It's listed (on Transfermarkt) as ending in June but that's because it's the u21 contract, and he's currently 21.  His wiki says he signed a senior deal in 2025 but doesn't state the length.

Ahh right it’s always hard trying to figure out how long youth players have got.

Side note but they said on commentary yesterday that Kevon Gray had signed a deal till 2029

Cartwright has had a mixed spell and unlike Braybrooke who struggled there, he's never had the same hype or class that makes you think it's just a good learning experience rather than an indicator of ability.

Think people are not aware just how much of a mixed bag Scottish football is. Will get some players that will be good PL players but plenty that couldn't cut it in L1 go there and do really well.

Sammy Braybrooke is in line to play a part as Chesterfield enter the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs this week.

Chesterfield to face Notts County in the Sky Bet League 2 Play-Offs

Foxes loanee Sammy Braybrooke could feature for the Spireites

Paul Cook’s side are up against Notts County in the two-legged semi-final

The Foxes midfielder, who joined the Spireites on loan in January after a productive first half of the season with fellow fourth tier outfit Newport County, has been a key figure in their play-off push.

Featuring 21 times, all starts, he contributed three assists as Chesterfield finished sixth, on 79 points, only three away from the final automatic promotion spot.

Beating Swindon on the final day.

And Saturday’s win at Swindon Town, coming up against another young Foxes loanee in Tom Wilson-Brown, saw Paul Cook’s side confirm a spot in the top seven, thus extending their season, with a potential promotion to Sky Bet League One on the cards.

It all kicks off on Sunday evening for the Derbyshire outfit, hosting Notts County at SMH Group Stadium in the first leg of the semi-final tie (6pm kick-off), before the reverse fixture at Meadow Lane five days later (8pm kick-off).

Should Chesterfield progress, they will face either Salford City or Grimsby Town in the play-off final at Wembley Stadium on Monday 25 May.

All times BST.

Cartwright got 20 minutes off the bench today with Falkirk already 3-0 down.  They pulled one back within 2 minutes of his introduction but it finished 3-1.
