I’d always have him back to play off the bench, but we need to invest in the future now and he’s close to retirement.

I also think it would cheapen the goodbye send off he got, and that was almost perfect. Relegation was the only souring element.

This would be my concern, same would go for Pearson. Incomparable both, let’s not make bad memories at the close.

No. Shame he went out on relegation but he's 38. He has had the kind of career most players can only dream off.

Call it a day with dignity. Go enjoy the money and get auditioning for who plays him in the film.

We say this but in dream land he would score the winning goal for our return to the premier league and then drop the mic 🎤

He doesn't deserve a flippant answer like that.

I was gonna go for "pass"

Should have been gone at least 3 years ago.

Yes of course, and we as much as any know what that dream actually feels like.

Maybe I am just getting older, but now is not the time for such dreams, after such consistent mismanagement, now is the time for prudence and building the foundations (for the next dream)

Who else would we get? Danny Ings? Evan Ferguson on loan? I've seen suggestions of Agmeyang on here (not good) or Kroupi Jr on loan (not happening).

Realistically one more year of Vardy might still be our best option if we were to sign someone, although im happy with Evans as our starter and Ayew, Daka or a false 9 as backup.

I think had Sheffield Wednesday been in better shape, he would have ended up there.

Maybe United, they did take Zlatan and Cavani, probably moved on from that veteran phase now but he would improve that shower of sh1te

I find it odd people don't want him back.

He'd scored a minimum 15 goals next season in the championship, more likely 20 - what makes it even more exciting we have a manger that's intent on attacking.

There's hardly anything left to get excited about the club - Vardy rotating with a new striker or Evans/Hutchinson would be what dreams are made of.

But that's just fond memories and not realistic unfortunately. Our greatest ever player would be tarred by his cost, one the club cannot afford, and by the grim reality of his output at this time.

But it's all about opinions.

If we sold Daka and Ayew, signed a new starting #9 and got Vardy in as backup, I'm sure we would all be on board but we KNOW thats not what would happen. He would come back as our starter with Ayew as back up and no-one wants that.

Reluctantly, no. I think he had the perfect send off in May - all the stars seemed to align for our greatest that day. We need to move on and let go of that era, even if it is painful.

Doesn’t surprise me he hasn’t signed for a club yet though. If he genuinely is wanting a PL club he’s going to be a second or third choice back up given his age, so clubs will only move once they’ve exhausted other options and signed their first choice options. I’m still hoping he signs for a club outside of England or retires though. I really don’t want to see him in another English clubs colours now 🙏🏻

You say that like he didn't score 9 PL goals and assist 4 last season in a terrible team. Yes he missed some sitters but that also shows that he still has the ability to be one step ahead of PL level defenders, let alone championship ones.

Vardy being one of the top scorers in the championship next season if he came back would be a realistic expectation. He's still one of the best options in the market for us.

I wouldnt be surprised if he goes elsewhere and does well whilst our new striker is written off by Christmas.

Not for me. I want to remember him for the first promotion, the great escape, the PL title, the FA Cup. Not to remember him for 2 promotions that came from the biggest failure in the club's history and probably the worst season respectively.

No and not because he wouldn’t be welcome but for his own sake.

He knows better than anyone here that the club is a total disaster or a shitshow as he called it and he wasn’t talking about the manager he was talking about Dumb & Dumber upstairs

Sell up Thai Boy !!!

Or you could argue that missing sitters is a clear sign of a striker's decline. I thought he had made it clear he still wants to play a the top level of the game, in the Premier league. But remove the rose-tinted glasses of a Foxes fan, and I really can't see a Premier league club being interested in a 38 year old striker who scored 9 goals last year when playing virtually every minute, and in the Premiership season before that (22/23) showed that he's not that viable as an off the bench super sub option, as he played far fewer minutes (around 1000 fewer), started 19 games, was subbed in for 18 and scored 3. Unless he radically reduces his wage demands, that would make him a luxury option that I don't think many would bother with over either a player capable of playing 90+ minutes every week or a younger player who may be a better long term investment. I wish him all the best, but really think either retiring and coaching or a last pay day in the States are the better options. I can't see a season in the Premier league or even the Championship ending as well as his fans would like.
