A few of the guys who I work with who don't support Leicester think we're dodgy and that we're lucky to have avoided fines / points deductions over the PSR issues.

Might well be that they're winding me up because they know I'm a massive Leicester fan, but I think there's an element of truth that we're seen as cheats. It's possibly because a lot of them support other championship clubs (Ipswich, Cov, Derby, Leeds, Sheffield United etc etc) but they're looking forward to seeing us get our 'comeuppance'.

Truth is ... there is a stench of dishonesty and mistrust hanging over the club .... but in the world of KP, Top,Rudkin it smells of roses

Totally agree !
Way worse than the Shipman era where we sold everything we had at least they balanced the books and kept the club within its means.
Dumb and Dumber sit there oblivious season after season with not a glimmer of effort being shown, but hey the only way out of this mess is to let them carry on because the losses over the last few years can’t continue and they’ll end up selling the club, give them enough rope and the end will come, it’s our only hope.

We all wanted Shipman out. Yes I know a little of the workings at the time. Like certain gates on the kop not adding to the attendance. But they lived within the means of the club at the time. Yes a little expenditure we could have been more. But I'd take that over these idiots.

I think this view is far more commonly held and certainly more widespread than perhaps we would like to think

I think the majority of fans are loving our downfall.

With the exception of the super league 6 every club would love the success we’ve had over the last 10 years.

Now we’re in a different place, we’ve become a bit of a laughing stock

I think the fans of a number of clubs (Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham etc.) are still bitter that we won the league (and FA Cup). They still say we were lucky, only winning the league because the "better" teams had poor seasons.

As pointed out in another comment, many fans of other clubs think it was a disgrace to sack Ranieri,  but the reality was that he may well have got us relegated.

Let's be honest fans only care about other clubs once the season starts. Then if you're top you don't care about the bottom and visa versa. The only time you care about teams not around you is when you play them.

Did we care about Millwall and Plymouth 2yrs ago? Not until that week at the end of the season when they both beat us.

Does anyone here care what Man u and Liverpool are doing Really?

Well…….statistically………

:sweating:

We’re also the most successful second tier side ever. All time tables aren’t that kind to us but winning a title in this day and age is worth way more than reams of mediocre seasons in the top tier

I do think winning the league and cup does raise more questions than it does of say Southampton - who are another club I don't actually really think get enough investigation. They've dropped off a ridiculous amount as well.

What's it matter.

Surely it's what we think that counts.

Personally at nearly 60yrs of age I've never felt so low about my club as I do now. It's even worse than the administration.

It clearly is not.!!!!

Whilst I generally dont give a **** what fans of other clubs think, I do get annoyed when some rival fans look at our current financial situation and say ‘we’re now paying for those years of success’.

That’s got nothing to do with it! We won the league on a shoestring budget and then the FA Cup team was built on shrewd signings and selling well. Sell Maguire, buy Soyuncu and Fofana, sell Chilwell buy Castange etc.

Our current situation is down to the years that immediately followed the success with awful transfer business and the fact the clowns behind the scenes didn’t consolidate our great position by making us better commercially.

.... and COVID! But of course Rudkin and co have to take all of the blame.

Covid? Whilst I appreciate Covid was an unprecedented time for everyone, it also affected everyone the same so why is no other team in as much shit as us and had such a fall from grace?

We’ve gone from challenging for the Champions League to possible points deductions in the Championship. Name another team with that trajectory in the same period.

Covid didn’t sign Daka, Soumare, Faes, Bertrand, Vestergaard, Souttar, Coady, Skipp, Kristiansen whilst also letting Schmeichel go for next to nothing and allowing Tielemans to run his contract down.

And Evans and Soyuncu left for free.

I read the Alex Ferguson book leadership recently. One of the things he said was that he always staggered players contracts. He said that when players contracts all run out at the same time it gives too much power to the players.

I feel that is partly what happened to us, Tielemanns inparticular, and his approach to running his contract down I believe changed the way some of the other players approached contracts with us.

Once in administration we knew changes would be made.

These fvcking idiots just keep bumbling along like everything's fine. Top will destroy this club as we know it.

The dark days sadly are still to come unless he sells up.

Regarding Top .... it was Vichai whose brought the club and his heart was in the club, fans and city .... Top inherited the club and his heart is not in it, his only reason for not selling it is out of respect to his father, they way things are seeming to go with King power ... sooner or later he will have very little option but to sell

It seems to me the general consensus of other fans is that we are cheaters and deserve a 25 point deduction for cheating so much which is massively unfair.
I don't believe we cheated (cheating implies intent), we have ample evidence that the board have been decimating the club trying to comply with PSR since some time in 2021 when Rodgers started to be vocal about not being backed how he thinks he should have. If we were cheating, we'd have just carried on spending regardless, but we firmly put the brakes on and only bought in January 22 when we were in trouble and were desperate to try to save ourselves.

We then got relegated, sold 100m of players, and the big mistake we made was spending 35m+ in the championship, but It's impossible to know if we were actively ignoring PSR or whether we were trying to balance on a tightrope between buying players to compete whilst selling players, and then the sales fell through, I'd suggest probably the latter.

I don't think Leicester "cheated" and I don't think there is much evidence to prove that, I think we are just ****ing incompetent from top to bottom.

Yeah this annoys me as well. Goal posts were moved when we’d already created this wage structure at the club. We were never going to be able to get out of that quickly. Problem is, it doesn’t look like lessons were learnt

No it did not. KP rely solely on travel for their income. COVID destroyed that revenue stream so it has to be considered.

Nonsense. The owners wealth hasn’t been raised as an issue until recently.

Our failings are down to PSR, I.e spending our revenue poorly, not down to less foot traffic through airports!

the club... shouldn't overly rely on the owners wealth, need to manage its finances far better than it has in the past few years .... over paying for dross would be an ideal place to start

I agree. The club cannot use Covid as an excuse other than it disrupted momentum and allowed Spurs and Man Utd to get players back in 2020 for the restart and may have been the fact why we didn’t get top 4. But otherwise it’s just an excuse from people who won’t admit the real problem.

I just got back from Croatia for my holidays….

A restaurant owner asked me where I was from

His eyes lit up and we chatted for a bit…. I showed him videos of me, my kids and Dad in 15/16 at the final game…

He told me he had goose pimples in 15/16 and he was totally engrossed in the LCFC story…. They are now firmly his favourite second club

He knew an impressive amount about us….

A short Kramaric chat too of course!

Not many forget what happened in 15/16 and outside of the UK there appears to be huge amount of good will
