Hi Guys,

There is a strange sound coming out the back of my car near my exhaust. Sounds like something is loose. I vaguely remember this happening before but have no recollection of what it was. Please can you watch my short video and see if you have an idea what it is.

The model is a Jaguar XF and it is diesel. Thought that may help.

Thanks in advance all.

Im no good with cars but I'm confident in saying there's a frog or a toad stuck in there

Looks like your exhaust damper that's shot.  The rubber has probably split/perished.

Easy fix. Just need a spanner & about £50 for a genuine Jaguar part.

Yes. Damper. That is ringing a bell from last time. Thanks mate.

Anyone able to help with a problem I have with the radio in my Peugeot?

For some reason the "infotainment" system wiped all my saved stations and I had to retune after I did a factory reset.

Now it won't pick up 104.9FM and I can't tune into any DAB stations where before I had several in my presets.

I've searched Peugeot forums and Google but I can't find anything that really matches my issue so I guess this post is a bit of a long shot. :dunno:

Where's your location when you try the retune? It could be you are in a poor reception area when you carry it out. A radio of mine would skip a couple of stations on auto retune, though I could get those stations if manually tuning.

That was on FM. I don't think that should be quite the same with DAB, in fact, it could be the opposite.

My DAB radio will save stations on an auto retune but won't actually play them because the signal is too weak!

HA in Hinckley on my drive. I didn't have a problem before.

I have previously been able to save R2, R5live and some commercial stations that aren't broadcasting on FM.

You're right about the DAB reception. It's not great. I could have the radio on a DAB station and drive 50 yards down the road and lose it. Very frustrating.

Come into a bit of an issue with my car this morning. It turns on just fine but it doesn't idle until you've driven about for a bit.

As I pulled off the drive this morning and stalled. First I thought I must have not been concentrating so I turned it on again and watched the rev counter go up as normal but instead of idling at about 700/800 revs it just dropped straight through to 0 and stalled.

As I say, it starts just fine but you need to manually keep the revs up until you drive it for a couple of hundred metres or so.

No the battery is relatively new (less than 2 years old).

Sounds like it could be an issue with the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Try cleaning that first.

Could be a misfire. Check the spark plugs (assuming it's a petrol car).

My old knackered 2012 vivaro camper van conversion has a warning light on the dashboard.  I took it to the garage and they fitted a new ABS sensor.  However after that was done the warning light remained.  The mechanic scanned it with that plug-in machine thing and it revealed error codes for refrigeration and for air conditioning.  The thing is, my van is not refrigerated (never was) and does not have air conditioning so the mechanic was unable tofu it and turn off the warning light.

I would like to sell it at some point so that warning light is a proper pain.  I know this is a long shot since it has confounded a proper mechanic, but does anyone have any ideas?
