Lots of people answering with players they disliked AFTER they left us, so that doesn't really count (though the wording in the OP talks about players leaving under a cloud so would be good to know what the actual question is).

Can't think of a player I properly disliked when they played for us who was actually good. Generally, if they were decent, that started to override any real dislike on a personal level.

My brother absolutely despised Antony Knockeart and still stands by it to this day, to the point he'd join in with the chants yelling "PLEASE SELL KNOCKEART" - despite all his memorable moments for us. That one good enough for ya? lol:knockyhat:

For me, a player that got on my tits at the time was Paul Gallagher. Frustrating, powderpuff twat who could get outmuscled by a light breeze, but my god he was good at set pieces. So he's one of those where you spend 80 minutes groaning every time he touches the ball, then the next minute you're cheering and singing his name like it never happened after he scores a 30 yard belter.  He also has vocal credits on Jersey Budd's "When You're Smiling" and I thought his face in the studio with those headphones on looked punchable, so I'm reminded of my love-hate relationship before kick-off every game. lol

Ready to be shot but gonna say Mahrez. No questioning that he was one of our most talented players ever, but we saw a different side to him when he didn’t get his move the first time and stopped giving 100% on the pitch.

For all his faults Mahrez never downed tools on the pitch

Danny Simpson. Great player for us, but left a sour taste having someone with his past playing for us.

He wasn't punished enough for his misdeeds in your opinion then?

The 2022/23 squad to be honest but that is precisely why I ended up disliking them - it's without doubt in my eyes the strongest squad to ever be relegated from the Premier League.

Maddison is the very obvious example. He grates on me but he's obviously a pretty good player.

The answer for me is Maddison.

The other one is Slimani. He obviously had ability.

Always thought Chilwell was a bit of a fanny when he played for us. Compounded by leaving and saying he’d rather beat us in the cup final than win the Champions League - ****ing dolt

He was MOTM in the final as well, completely pocketed Mahrez.

He's definitely gone a bit the way of Luke Shaw though, just a bit of a nothing player these days.

Cristiano Ronaldo... Egotistical bell-end and thoroughly unlikable... But you can't deny the talent and dedication.

Yeh a fair few like this. Vini JR and Mbappe are hideous bell ends as well.

Kasper, he came over as aloof and arrogant.

I can’t remember who it was, but one of our ex players referred to him as hard work at times.

Not going on the pitch for Vardys last game just said to me he was still trying to create a little headline for himself even though it was all about Vards.

Yeh Kasper was an amazing player for us during our best ever years, but he did often come across as a bit of a bell end.

For some reason I've got Steffen Freund in my mind. Couldn't stand him when he was at Spurs and I was really annoyed when we signed the rat faced tit but I seem to recall he actually did pretty well for us.

Maddison is the other one. Very good player but never warmed to him and I wasn't bothered in the slightest when we sold him, unlike Barnes. That one hurt.

Chilwell was a wimp. Throw in at Millwall comes to mind. a big girls blouse that required big guys to back him up. Very unlikeable and was VERY pleased when his "goal" at Wembley at the cup final was disallowed.

Danny Drinkwater is the answer to this.

seemed a proper tool but what a player he was for us

Thought about Danny, but I didn't feel "reluctant" to rate him. Very happy to rate him, in fact. Basically a sour type, someone hard to like, but also hard to truly dislike
