It’s a sad indictment of society that people (mostly men) of a certain age (I’m not committing myself here) cannot put together a coherent argument in words and therefore have to use their fists to get their points across. 

 

If you repeat the same words over and over again, whilst simultaneously pummelling someone, it becomes logical that those words become more true. To them. 

 

The rest of us, the civilised parts of society, are merely the innocent victims of this ignorance.

Our fanbase absolutely fascinates me. I did think a lot of those backing this disaster of a regime were a loud minority on Facebook (similar to what you could accuse this site of being to be fair but for the opposite) while the vast majority are pretty passive and sit in the middle, but seeing the old boys backing Aiywatt and the regime is so perplexing. It seems a really unique situation. I cannot believe that for example the equivalents at West Ham, Sheffield Wednesday, Wolves, Blackburn etc... are behind their equivalents.

 

We've got the most bizarre fanbase in England. Confirmation bias maybe because I'm far more invested in this one than any other but I look around a bit, and I really cannot believe there's a situation quite like this. A genuine one-off. And one that is ultimately very damaging. What on earth do you do when there's a decline so utterly inarguable yet so many have taken a stance where they're actually backing the decline against those calling it out?

Saw a video of West Ham's end today at Wolves. Was as feral as you would imagine - an absolute barrage for their team bar one man who was clapping (and to be honest, I am assuming he was probably a relative of a player).

 

We serve up something even more egregious on Thursday (and at QPR, and many more) and you've got old boys attacking people for calling it out while a sizeable number will stay there to clap it off. There is absolutely no way they are doing that because they're happy with the 'effort' they have just paid good money to have inflicted on them. They are doing it to spite 'the boo boys'.

 

It's why it wouldn't actually surprise me if on Monday some of them did actually try and vocally support the team for the first time in about four decades. It will be nothing to do with love for this joke of a team, but more spite for those can see what it is.

 

I just cannot believe this sort of activity takes place this frequently at any other club.

The only difference I can see is that Aiyawatt is still associated with the club's best ever period so it's impossible for some people to turn on him. I'm on the sane page as you, so you don't need me to explain why this is misleading, but it is an explanation.

It's funny because a lot of the old guard absolutely hated Claude Puel and were vocal about how he was "destroying our club". He was overall an underwhelming manager, I won’t rewrite history. However, now the club is in total free fall and they're actually fighting people that are calling it out.

Lets be honest, only a handful were ever serious.  The hangers on did very little more than gesticulate, shout, chase people down a street , then get chased back down the same street 😂.  As you say, mainly bullies who like an easy target.  Not that i condone any of it now im a grown up 😂

There are people near me who get annoyed with any chants against the board because “it won’t help the team” but will then lose their minds when we try to play it out from the back. Which is more damaging to the players?

 

I think the title and FA Cup wins have heavily skewed things and caused this incomprehensible divide. To these people those trophies cemented that ‘King Power = Good’ and nothing will change that. They are probably as angry about what’s going on as we are, but rather than challenge that belief, they would sooner direct their anger at people who are vocalising an uncomfortable truth that they don’t want to accept.

I think it’s telling most of the KPFC supporters are older. It’s almost as if they’ve not just bought into the KP Fairy Story, but the bigger football picture. They’ve deluded themselves into thinking that what we did was a one off, and we should know our place in the football hierarchy and go back to bouncing between the EFL and the lower parts of the PL, if we are lucky. We also should be very, very grateful to Top and his family for bringing us something we never thought we’d see, and we shouldn’t be ungrateful and entitled by wanting them out.

 

We had a massive opportunity to turn football and the establishment on its head, and we not only bottled it, we very meekly went back to where we were before KP got involved. If being disappointed with how things have turned out now makes me entitled and ungrateful, I will wear those badges. Not because I am, but because it makes those who back KPFC look even more ridiculous than they already do.

They are knuckle draggers who haven't got the intelligence to sort it out with their mouth, so resort to fists. There was one next to me on Thursday who had limited vocabulary which mainly consisted of swearing and calling players C**ts.  He thought Fatawu was Nigerian! 😄

There's also a lot of fans that don't expect to reach those heights again, but want a football club they feel connected to again.

Yeah good point about Ranieri - we knew it was the right time him to go as the trajectory was terrible. Exactly the same with Top, we drop 4 places a season average with him in charge.
