The Purge

It could be a number of things, they do not communicate so for all we know it could be reducing the wage bill all the way up to recouping money before trying to sell.:dunno:

My point was not about Choudhury or any one player. This whole squad ain't at the level people think we are. Some think we will go up or just miss out because of a points deduction.

I don't see anything in this squad that says even a top half finish will happen. We could also lose our best players still.

I think this is the reality.

Great to clear the decks of as many of the deadwood as possible, but we need a refresh as much as reset. We need an injection of fresh blood if we are to mount any sort of challenge this season. This might be the loan market, we cannot rely on the academy boys…yet. I’m with Alan 😂 on that one.

I remember when he first broke into the team he looked pretty good if rash but over the years he has never progressed and seems to be a I've made it and no longer need to put in the effort type.

For Wrexham he will probably be a good buy to establish themselves in this division.

Has he ever been given the run of games which might have knocked him into shape? He knows he's not valued - why would he run his balls off for a succession of managers who've never given him the opportunity. He's not made the decision to keep himself here. The team's been badly coached ever since Rodgers dropped his rattle out of the pram. We got lucky with Maresca, but he nearly fvcked it up. Blame the players - they're the obvious targets for the kneejerkers. So you want the 'crap' players gone because Rudkin was free and easy with the wages. Bring in players for fvck all wages and then see how the results fare. You'd think it was your money City were spending the way you whinge.

He will be back up to Ricardo at RB, as well as being able to fill in at CM as well.

He is another one like Thomas and others, who aren't good enough for a promotion push, but we aren't signing anyone, so it is what it is.

Wow, another damning indictment of our current state of affairs. He is dreadful, kept here on sentimentality alone coupled with a lower wage, and still top of the pecking order.

And  yet ironically, we are playing him at RB

Yep, we’ve kept him around for 5 years and we’ve finally sunk to a low enough level that he’s useful

I actually like him, and think he’s a solid option at this level. Loves the club and is reliable. I really don’t understand the hate for the guy. There’s others stinking the place out a lot more than hamza.

That said, I would sell him if a decent offer came in, I just don’t understand the hate for the lad. He’s never going to set the world alight, but he is good enough to play as either a holding player or a rb at this level.

He’s paid more than he deserves, that’s a given, but the wages to quality ratio isn’t as bad as some. Due to the combination of big wages, not a star player, homegrown so pure profit, I wouldn’t hesitate to sell, but he would be fairly low down on priorities of who to get rid of.

I think people need to let go of Hamza being a defensive midfielder. Marti see’s him as a right back, last year he played solely at right back for Sheff Utd.

Hamza is now a right back as far as I’m concerned and emergency cover for the defensive midfield role.
