What are you basing the doesn't look good at all on? His one proper season he was a very dangerous attacking midfielder with about 15 goal contributions I think?

He has 15 goal contributions across his entire career unless im looking at the wrong player? Best season 5 goals 1 assist as Middlesborough 3 seasons ago. Looks to me like an academy player still trying to establish himself in senior football which is what Page/Alves are.

Just worried that on the face of it he seems to have not kicked on since that season and doesnt look very developed physically. If we are bringing in a new attacking midfielder he needs to be a clear improvement on Page otherwise what's the point.

 

For example when i watch these highlights i see current Louis Page but slightly better, and considering the age difference I'm not sure that's what we need and would expect more.

He has been out for over 18 months with a knee injury. It's a risk, but if he gets back to that level it's a player who is very good at this level. Suppose with only a few hours left it's a reasonable option. Ideally i'd be going for Breum from Go Ahead Eagles.

He didn't really kick on because he went in the Premier League as a bit-part player for a woefully underprepared team and got a horrendous knee injury half way through that season. He's now back to full fitness and should be looking to play every week. Similar to Fatawu in that sense.

For me a signing needs to be a clear upgrade on what we have to be worthwhile. Maybe im missing something but all i see when i watch him is Louis Page, a bit raw and struggles with the physical side of the game. The talent is there for sure but i dont think he's something that we dont already have in Page.

Aaron Ramsey who apparently isn't an old Welsh footballer, Carranza a 5'9" targetman from Argentina and Jordan James whose dad is unconfirmed as Sid James. Oh and we loaned Alves to Uddersfield.
