@splinterdream you asked me in the match thread "what are we" when I said WBA are a poor side. I went to reply to you but the thread got closed.

My answer is, we are also a poor side!

Should we be? Absolutely not!

This league is atrocious but Marti needs to sort our attacking play out very soon or it will be a long, horrible season.

A draw away to WBA isn't awful but our performances in general do not inspire any hope that we will have a good season.

We're a play off side, same as west brom. We may be a working progress and may click later in the season, but right now we look like we're lacking a creative midfielder (ramsey possibley) and a striker (carrenza hopefully)

Another bang average performance. The only time we play decent football is when it’s in areas that don’t actually pose a threat. We ping 3-4 first time passes around then create nothing with the overloads.

We are too easy to defend against, all they have to do is force us onto the wings and double up on Mavididi/Fatawu, they are forced to either cross it into absolutely nobody or produce a magic strike.

We have Monga, Mavididi and Fatawu, all 3 of them should be cheat codes in this division yet our system is currently forcing them to produce miracles because they have basically no support from anyone else.

Ayew and Mavididi need to be hooked for a few games. Marti is creating problems then people are crediting him for fixing them.

Absolutely hate possession football. Especially when you’re not very good at it.

To be fair, at this level most teams will sit back against us, so regardless of manager we'd be having most of the possession

The look you make when you realise all our strikers are shit

Yes, watching Carranza tonight shows why Ayew gets the start.

Some of the subs were puzzling. Just some minutes for VK and Daka?

Soumare and Mavididi did well tonight, deserve the start.

We won't score much shooting from outside the box.

I thought we were really good in the first half with neat incisive forward passes but with Ayew and Daka as our striking options and a loanee in Carranza we were always going to struggle for goals. We rely on the wingers and if they are not scoring we a buggered.

Quite a few crosses went in and a 38yo Vardy would be better than the lot of theseby getting in position. Ayew works hard but isnot what this team needs.

If we can somehow stay within 6-8 points of automatic come January and actually spend on a decent striker we will go up.

Faes defending BTW, if my team mates did that during Sunday league they would be hammered. Faes made that lads run look like Messi in his pomp the clown.

The ref wasn't so bad that he's responsible for us dropping points by the way. Not good enough.

Don't forget on any other day we go 2-0 down after Jakub spills it and we lose the game.

There is improvement from where we were a few games ago in terms of patterns of play but we need more than that. Don't hate Ayew like some seem to but we at least need a striker with movement or pace on the pitch to keep the oppo defence honest and stretch play. Hate to say it but Fatawu needs to start putting in some more consistent performances too.

You must have stopped watching at half time? Surely?

No, I’m just watching it without the rage that appears to have taken over foxestalk. We played some good stuff tonight. We also did lots of things not so good. Particularly our finishing and our final ball. They got more chances as we had to take more risks in the 2nd half but we were the better team and deserved something. If you don’t think that then I’m guessing you stopped watching after 5 minutes.

We didn't deserve to concede after the start we had and we deserved to be at least level at the break. They didn't deserve to concede a late equaliser after the second half they had. Swings and roundabouts.

We need to show more creativity. Chance creation needs to increase massively.

I thought we just didn't look the same without James on the pitch. I thought he linked defence and attack really well and then when Carranza came on later in the second half we lacked fluency entirely.

Lots to work on.

Grim stuff, another game where we looked unthreatening pretty much throughout. At least in the first half we were fairly tidy between the two boxes but then the sub at the break changed that. Ayew is ****ing abhorrent and worryingly Carranza didn't look much of an improvement. Monga needs to either cut the diving or get a lot better at it because it's already getting a bit embarrassing.

Whilst we continue to concede the 1st goal then teams will play like this.
