We needed someone who been around the block to steady the ship, which maybe boring but we need to stop the bleeding.

 

We needed to get to this summer clear the deck of over paid players, get the new technicial Directior in and sort the PSR points issue once and for all.

This is the guy who fell out with 3 managers here, who had 'dog-gate' during the RVN era, who only seems to want to play under his terms (the slow, laborious, draw the attackers in motion), and seems incapable of actually defender to Championship standard. The 2nd goal against Southampton says 'hi'.

Yeah on the pitch I’m not seeing an issue with his attitude. He’s okay at this level. Not our biggest issue but would like to see Souttar, Nelson and Okoli ahead of him when fit.

We wont change our style until we dump Vestergaard. He is our biggest problem.

M O’Neil should be the next manager. We’re in desperate need of a lift and someone to take proper charge of the club and players. He wouldn’t stand for any of these players and their attitude.

I know you opinion on Jannik, but, with this level of cherry picking you could chastise any of our players over the last 18 months.

He is not what we want, he is not the future and he is on the decline, but right here, right now, he is passable, certainly no more.

His attitude is also fine, he just has substantial weaknesses, and as a manager if you pick him then you must mitigate for them as he is not going to suddenly any pace or agility. He is at least talking during the match, something nowhere near enough of our lot anywhere near enough.

Sure it's not the manager telling Vestergaard to play this way? If it's not then the manager is the biggest issue at the club (aside from at board level)

None of us know. But my angry and very tinfoil hot brain right now tells me that there is likely a combination of:

• Club hierarchy still believing that replicating the Enzo system will guarantee success, hence Vestergaard + Winks = happiness.
• Marti probably believing in that himself, and him being overly pragmatic and running with it.
• Vestergaard having quite a lot of clout in the dressing room. If he plays, he plays his way.

Vestergaard has been literally undroppable under Marti, where as everyone else has had to rotate or get dropped at some point. Very strange.

Rodgers had no issue binning him off, I think you're over thinking it, seems more likely we've got a manager who wants to play a certain way and believes Vestergaard is key to achieving that

Looks like MON is staying on at Celtic, otherwise I'd welcome it. You could name him manager tomorrow and it would be a home sell out against Ipswich.

 

Richie Wellens still doing a great job at Orient, he's the man we need to get this club up and running.
