I did say after first half last week maybe it's time on Marti, but then after calming down I realised i'm not entirely convinced a managerial change at this point would make a difference

Meh! I was never Marti out. Our problems are all above him and only in solving them would we know if he's up to it.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that some of the decisions around Faes and Winks, etc have been due to interference from above in that though.

He's not the answer long term, but let him enjoy his win. As has been said, he's finally rooting out the bad apples who were going to get him the sack.

No,think he'll be gone after the next run of defeats, which as we all know are never far away. Pity as seems a decent but he's  in a situation damned if he does and damned if he don't.

No, I don't think that he has it tactically. It should have been more comfortable second half playing on the counter. Most coaches have this in the bank.

His bosses may be telling him to make something of the players who are being paid so much and they might have a point. Either way he should be getting more out of the squad.

Nope not at all. We were very good in the first half but they were absolutely hopeless in defence and for once we converted the chances that did come our way. Second half we were clearly set up to play deeper and for twenty minutes basically whalloped the ball out of play in their half with our forwards absolutely knackered and unable to get anywhere near the ball. Invited trouble and could easily have been 2-3 with 10 to go. At that point I don’t think we see it out.
Well done to him for dropping Wanks but tactically inept.

The only way my opinion on Marti will change is if he consistently has us actually playing a certain way whilst picking up results AND keeping the likes of Winks & Faes away with plenty of academy players involved.

If he turns it around then you won't meet anyone happier for him than me.

First half was as good as I've seen us in years and id include a lot of Enzo games in that.

Having said all of that - LEARN FROM THIS.

If there has been any pressure to play Winks and Faes then let this be the very final lesson that they are a cancer to this club. As is the infuriating philosophy Top wants. Sort all that and you have a chance. Go back on all this and you don't deserve to stay.

This, i dont care how well we play as long as we are making the right steps to get the playing squad on the right track.

Faes on the bench, Winks out of the squad, Nelson in the XI and Aluko, Evans, Page, Silko Thomas on the bench is a positive place to start, rebuilding is a marathon, not a sprint.

Yeah exactly. It was never personal with Cifuentes. What he's done today, bar the second half which I can sort of overlook in the midst of the rest, is a good sign. I'd be OK with him staying if he kept that up. It was never that complicated.
