Wink84 Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Has anyone changed their opinion on him after that game? 1 3
Popular Post Dan Posted 6 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2025 No. I did wonder at half time if the penny had dropped but the second half was another red flag and tells me in the long run it won't work. 7
Popular Post TheGoldenGod Posted 6 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2025 Definitely not. The 2nd half only affirmed my concerns about his tactical nouse. 5
splinterdream Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 I did say after first half last week maybe it's time on Marti, but then after calming down I realised i'm not entirely convinced a managerial change at this point would make a difference 2
Popular Post Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2025 If this is the turnaround (plenty of false dawn before now) then it’s taken him long enough to find a formula that works. I can’t help but also dislike his hair. He’s clearly thinning on top, and he fluffs it all spikey like a spotty emo teenager. I defy anyone to tell me we would have employed him if he was more visually receding and balding. Like his questionable track record, he’s trying to cover it up. Not for me. 5
BrilliantFox Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 39% possession, cowardly 2nd half, still failed to keep a clean sheet. Cifuentes is so shit the players are bailing him out. 1 1
Popular Post Dan Posted 6 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2025 In fairness to him though, and it's taken him way too long to do this, he's gradually bombing out the twats. 6 1
BigGibbo Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Meh! I was never Marti out. Our problems are all above him and only in solving them would we know if he's up to it. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt that some of the decisions around Faes and Winks, etc have been due to interference from above in that though. 4

This, i dont care how well we play as long as we are making the right steps to get the playing squad on the right track. Faes on the bench, Winks out of the squad, Nelson in the XI and Aluko, Evans, Page, Silko Thomas on the bench is a positive place to start, rebuilding is a marathon, not a sprint. 12
CWLCFC Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Happy with the win but he’s defo not a long term solution 1
Tuna Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 He's not the answer long term, but let him enjoy his win. As has been said, he's finally rooting out the bad apples who were going to get him the sack. 3
john ridley Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 No,think he'll be gone after the next run of defeats, which as we all know are never far away. Pity as seems a decent but he's in a situation damned if he does and damned if he don't. 1
DoveValleyFox Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 No, I don't think that he has it tactically. It should have been more comfortable second half playing on the counter. Most coaches have this in the bank. His bosses may be telling him to make something of the players who are being paid so much and they might have a point. Either way he should be getting more out of the squad. 1
TeamRocket Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 (edited) He'll go on to losing a few more games then win and never be sacked Edited 6 December 2025 by TeamRocket 1 1
Cropwellfox Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Nope not at all. We were very good in the first half but they were absolutely hopeless in defence and for once we converted the chances that did come our way. Second half we were clearly set up to play deeper and for twenty minutes basically whalloped the ball out of play in their half with our forwards absolutely knackered and unable to get anywhere near the ball. Invited trouble and could easily have been 2-3 with 10 to go. At that point I don’t think we see it out. Well done to him for dropping Wanks but tactically inept. 1
Noahfence Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 The only way my opinion on Marti will change is if he consistently has us actually playing a certain way whilst picking up results AND keeping the likes of Winks & Faes away with plenty of academy players involved. 1
Gamble92 Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 If he turns it around then you won't meet anyone happier for him than me. First half was as good as I've seen us in years and id include a lot of Enzo games in that. Having said all of that - LEARN FROM THIS. If there has been any pressure to play Winks and Faes then let this be the very final lesson that they are a cancer to this club. As is the infuriating philosophy Top wants. Sort all that and you have a chance. Go back on all this and you don't deserve to stay. 2
Popular Post Benji Posted 6 December 2025 Popular Post Posted 6 December 2025 If the answer is Russell Martin then I’ll stick with Marti if that’s alright. 10

It was never personal with Cifuentes. What he's done today, bar the second half which I can sort of overlook in the midst of the rest, is a good sign. I'd be OK with him staying if he kept that up. It was never that complicated. 2
Blueman1967 Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Sill needs time, we need more of today game, and a few players off loading, and some in January, and see where we are after that 2
Richard Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 We haven't got the money to meaningfully replace him so what's the point sacking him? 2
Dahnsouff Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Not really, but every recovery starts with improved performance. Needs to continue. 1
Noahfence Posted 6 December 2025 Posted 6 December 2025 Need to see a run of games where we put in performances. Binning Winks is a start. 2
