Really? It follows the pattern of every single academy player that we've had. Aluko had it last season, JJ will get it no doubt sometime soon.

It’s not a surprise but it’s still odd, to be any good our academy players have to be our best players and make no mistakes ever - meanwhile the average players get to plod along

I didn’t watch but sounds like he just had a poor game. Don’t think there’s too much to worry about with him

Victim of what he was asked to do tactically today: in a similar story to that of Alves who was effectively a wingback yesterday.

Having to act the foremost central press as a midfielder (he was often found higher than Riis and Cullen without the ball.) can make it very difficult to influence a game because you’re always having to turn and often behind the game.

It's a fine point, but when people say that Brabrooke's considerably older than Page and should be more advanced in his physical development at this stage, you need to also factor in the time he was out with his injury at a crucial period of his development.

Posted

He’s spent all his formative years as a six

he’s now being asked to play as an eight

presumably because the coach doesn’t trust his physical strength as a single pivot which is Russell’s preferred structure

If he wants to really make it a the highest level as a six then he has to improve his core strength.  alternatively a coach who plays more of a double pivot.

Braybrooke may not be the long term solution but he’s very far down on my list of concerns.

He’ll go on to have a good EFL career.

Anyone else remember KDH saying that he consciously worked on his own fitness/physical development to stand out in a pre-season under Rodgers!?

Why do our younger lads appear to not have that mindset anymore?

Was poor for their goal Got the wrong side of his man, let him run without closing, jogging back.. Gave the lad all the time in the world to compose himself and put the ball through to Marcal.

My biggest frustration with Sammy is his lack of final product.

When he has an opportunity to pull the trigger with a shot or final ball, he plays it way too safe.

I’m not writing him off but not sure he’s as good, as some on here like you to believe.

Bottled taking a shot 3 or 4 times tonight.

Started the pre season solid, recieved the ball on the half turn, tried to drive forward, now hes skipp mk2.

His game has completely changed, and i fear for page as well.

It would be easy to say he’s having his game coached out of him.

I hate saying it but given the last few games, I think he’s found his level.

Agree - seems to be getting worse as the season progresses.  Seems to be looking for the safe option, slowing up play & not having any shots.  Not sure if it's RM's coaching or him thinking what's the point with more experienced pros being recruited & likely to take his spot.

Until Martin goes, he will always have excuses made for him but the start of this season has been a big opportunity for him and he hasn't done enough. Yet, that is.

All you can say is he fits the Brussel ball narrative perfectly.  Can't shoot, don't defend, but can move the ball side ways and backwards with some flair. Add to that he is lightweight and small, he's just what we need to get us out of this league.

Might be alright with a kante around him, but in this team, in this league. Nah.

Bizarre that he's being made a target.

Was our best midfielder in the last 2 games prior to this one against Barnsley and Fulham u21. Wasn't even bad tonight.

I think what’s happened is people who never saw him last season have heard the good reviews and expected him to be a ridiculous level.
