Any type of signing like this is worth it when you"re a club in our position as long as the wage is right, so what wage is worth the risk? Vardy is on £25k, so I'd be offering £15k a week.

You think Antonio who’s not played in over a year, has had his leg broken in 4 places and has never scored more than 10 in a season is worth 15k a week?

People need to get over this Jake Evans nonsense. Yes he needs to be eased in with 10-20 minute impact sub performances this season, but no way should he be starting games without showing that he can step up in those sub appearances.

I don't have faith in Ayew, Daka or Carranza, therefore signing Antonio on a short term deal is a no brainer in my opinion - definitely if we can send back Carranza in January.

I will NEVER, stop peddling Evans. Then i’ll move onto Lorenz, and then Motsi.

I’d argue it’s exactly what we don’t want.

He’s been out for ages, and there’s absolutely no guarantee he will be capable of coming back to play. A club whose finances as vulnerable as ours can’t take this kind of gamble in my opinion… and let’s be about right, he’s not accepting £15k a week, especially when we have players not starting on PL wages.

The coaching staff will have a decent take on his fitness level after a few days at Seagrave..  If he's in decent shape he can help this team !!

The same coaching staff who are struggling to get our players to play a full 90 mins without looking leggy!?

I'm not sure which players you are referring.  Ayew or BDR will very rarely last 90 minutes due to the age factor & I expect we would see the same thing with Antonio if he signs.

The people watching him train will be in a better position to know

Sure, but do you trust them to make a decision that's best for the team and club? I don't :P

Hmmm… I think everyone should calm down a bit.

Michail Antonio is not the player I’d be looking to bring in under normal circumstances but:

1. We’ll only have Ayew and Carranza available. One isn’t a forward and the other hasn’t demonstrated that he can contribute anything in this league

2. The other option is a 17 year old who has never scored for us and has no track record at this level

3. We don’t know the terms of any deal and how much we’ll actually be paying MA

4. We don’t know whether the club has any funds to buy anyone else given we spent the precise sum of £0.00 in the summer

5. Who else is available that would actually be prepared to come?

Given the circumstances MA might be the only deal we can do and here to provide cover. Even if we prioritise Jake Evans’s development we’d still need cover. We’re literally one injury away from Jake and Carranza being the only options available. We need someone through the door even if the options are sub-optimal

What about a loan deal? Either for a young, hungry forward with something to prove, or a player out of favour but with a solid record in the Championship (e.g. Piroë)?

If he is fit enough to play, and anywhere near his top speed for his age, he'd be with a punt. Proper knowhow. Even if he isn't the full MA experience, he'll still be a hell of a lot better than our other options. That's IF those first two things are true.

West Ham’s premier league record goal scorer.

West Ham must be shit then.

Martial is pissing around in Mexico and I'd take him 100x over Antonio.

Any other option is better than a 35 year old car-crash ridden striker.

16 pages on this, you guys have lost your mind.

Well ok. Piroe is one name.

Is he available?

Would he come here?

How much would he cost (loan fee, wages? etc.)?

Would he have better options?

There are loads of better players out there, but are they deliverable? If so, then bring them in as they might well be a better option than Antonio.

We’ve not exactly indicated that we’re going to flex our muscles in the transfer market. If our hands are tied then Michail Antonio might be the only deliverable option. As stated, that might be better than nobody and simply relying on Ayew, Carranza and a 17 year old academy product

Mate, I've got no idea, just wanted to see what people thought, hence the question mark.

I did say to my dad at the weekend, whenever I saw him play against us for West ham, I was never that worried

I'm prefer this, but piroe has nothing to prove in the championship, he wants to prove it in the PL, which is why he wont want to come. You need a player not even making the bench
