I hope there's some video evidence of Stroll senior finding out just how far off the car is!

Just punishment for consistently giving his son a seat.

Plenty of slow-mos of him walking round the paddock with a face like a smacked arse!

It's Fernando I feel sorry for. Unbelievable luck to have to go through this twice in his career. And not what he needs at his age.

I watched the practice sessions, and the Audi and Cadillac have really nice looking liveries. Merc, Red Bull and McLaren are all nice too.

Williams livery is too light of a blue colour IMO. And the Ferrari one looks crap with the huge white section on top.

Aston only have two batteries left for FP3, Quali and the race. I'm expecting them to not even to be able to race on Sunday unless they forfeit qualifying completely. Every time they came out in practice the car would break down soon after.

It's a complete shit show from Honda who only have 30% of their previous F1 engine staff working on it, everyone else is new with zero experience of building race engines. I bet Lawrence Stroll is absolutely furious with them. Theyd3have been better with a customer engine from Mercedes or Ferrari.

As someone that works in branding, that section is purely only there because of HP and them wanting their logo viewed on white.

You're absolutely right though it ruins every Ferrari livery its on.

I thought that was probably the case after seeing the HP logo, and wondered how it'd look on a red background.

I don't know why the white area has to be so large though.

EDIT: And there go Mercedes for the front row...

At least the teams at the front vary a bit in recent years. But having a dominant team each season sucks a bit. If Mercedes are this far ahead, then the field will only be evened out by the drivers' lack of experience of being in that position, a bit like McLaren last year.

God they’re miles ahead. Hopefully the others pick up during the season

Would help if the main rival didn’t crash into a wall ..

Hype about Ferrari probably gone quiet although apparently they start well ?

Pleased for Hadjar doing well and Lindblad/Audi starting promisingly.

Was too early for me to watch live!

It's such a battle in my mind between the absolute joy of seeing Lawrence Stroll implode versus the shame in seeing Alonso have to suffer.

Congratulations to Mercedes on their 26, 27 and 28 constructors championship though :appl:. It's easy to point to the engine, but McLaren, Williams and Alpine have the same kit so does show there's a lot of time to be made from the aero of the cars.

Really looking forward to the race though as could be wild being the first of this era.

Drivers already hate the new regulations and complaining a lot about them .

I'll put my neck in the line and make a prediction that will prove to be absolute bollocks, but I think they'll end up liking them.

They're so much more lively and people will make much more mistakes under braking and on exits. If drivers are also having to lift to charge, people will just send it when people do this and will end up in a decent amount of overtaking and racing. They've not a race yet which is all that matters in this.

Now watch as not a single move gets made tomorrow.

Seems like verstappen will have a more competitive car than last season.  Despite Mercedes obvious advantage, im intrigued as to how close he can make things

hopefully the red bull will be reliable and allow him to compete for the title.

Congrats to George Russell on winning the 2026 world drivers championship.

I presume Mercedes might get their engine advantage reduced if they dominate too much ?

As the start of a 'new era' these regs completely suck atm.  (And that's entirely on the FIA getting rid of the MGU-H without any real replacement.)  The big question is not if they can be improved upon, but when and how, and if it can save this season...

And yet I'm still gonna be watching it... *Sigh*
