I do think the manager and situation within the club are making it seem worse (in terms of what we need).

But I would say 4 sounds about right. RB, LB, CB and ST.

I do feel like Aluko could be the RB though. We really need a Morgan/Huth and a Fuchs type. Professional, experienced and strong defensively. If we had that and the defence could be the following, I think we’d be good;

Aluko - New - Nelson - New

Experience at RCB and LB would offset the inexperience at RB and LCB.

A midfield of James - Skipp - Page is absolutely not our problem if picked and in the 8’s breaking style. We do have talent on the wings but it is stifled by the managers lack of ability.

So if we could buy 4 players now you’d go for those 4 positions?

That midfield is fine but how many times have we heard we look so knackered after 60mins?

We can’t keep playing Skipp & JJ constantly in every game which come around every 3-4 days & not expect us to be leggy.

If Winks and Soumare both go we need to replace them with at least a loan player who can start now, next season we’ll have Braybrooke in, hopefully JJ stays maybe even Cartwright along with Skipp so the 2 6/8 positions will be ok but for this last 4 months we certainly need another body to help in those positions now u less people are happy with Hamza starting in midfield?

Yes, they are the positions we are massively weak in. You strengthen by improving the 11 as they say and then your squad improves as a result. We can’t keep playing Ricardo and Thomas at fullback. They are killing us. We need a different kind of centre back, with the skill set of a Morgan/Huth as I say. And striker at the other end speaks for itself.

In midfield, as you have said, we have at least youth players coming through there. They are the 4 priorities in my view, not to say other positions couldn’t be strengthened. But if you put a better player in those 4 positions, we’d look immediately better (well if we binned our fraud of a manager as well).

Edit - yes, for the purposes of the immediate future, if Choudhury wasn’t needed at fullback, I have no issues him being used to add energy in the midfield and playing to his strengths. He has become a scapegoat due to his off field antics and the fact he is paid far above his ability. But if he isn’t able to be moved on, Sheffield United loved him for a reason.

Think we need to see out these next 4 months before we start buying a CB as we have 4 (once Harry’s back) + any academy lad that might push up in the summer what we don’t want is to buy another and not be able to shift 1 even 2 in the summer.

ST we know we need in the summer so yes buy now if available.

2 x FBs but not provide cover for Skipp/JJ seems a bit foolish.

We do have Hamza & Aluko to provide cover at FB he just needs to start using Aluko more.

Midfield yes Hamza can cover but he’s not as good as either in either position so every other week or so we’ll be limited, I’d rather we got a loan in to add cover.

If we can get a FB (LB) & midfielder with loans then let’s do that but not sure we should be buying in a winter window anyone to see us through 4mths just to summer only to look again or find that Aluko & the other JJ on loan could in-fact save us stacking wages.

Marti’s probably picked his sides for the next weeks. Don’t expect any changes and a another spanking.

Marti’s most probably pick his team for the next month.

Yes, you're right.  The manager likes those with appalling running stats, weakness and airy fairy style.

Skipp dropped for Soumare..

Who’d have thought 5 years ago we’d see Matty James in a team above us in the league?

And that’s not Matty’s fault

Class player regardless

To be honest  I'm beyond caring now, and  by adopting this attitude my match day nerves don't take any battering what so all, and the day isn't ruined.

Yes Marti needs to sling his hook real pronto like, as he's not the man to take us forward, and I shudder to think what will happen when the points deduction hits and we drop down the table ( let's say a total guess of 9 points) and we are instantly in a relegation scrap. Our current match day  moral and mentality snd general application is truly hideous, so I don't hold out much hope with the added pressure caused by a now precarious new league position.

But as we have said countless times until The Nepo Baby and The KP Circus do one and bugger off, nothing will.chsnge, and nothing will get better so it's purely academic....

Is Antonio available?

Or Diabate?

Or anyone that is in anyway capable of playing as a striker?.

The plug was pulled mate. He got a muscle injury and that was the end of the matter.

The club for once saw sense and walked away.

For Daka or Ayew not to start would require a manger with a bit of imagination, versatility, and courage.... Marti lacks all 3 IMO.

Yeah, Jake Evans not that Marti will pick him.

First half vs Cov was good. Ric played the inverted role well. Sub him off at 60 for Hamza. Allow the midfielders to get up the pitch and move the ball around. They are the focal point of this team, not our wingers or strikers.

I’m saying start Evans but we know it won’t happen. If we’re going to play with strikers who aren’t good enough, I’d rather play one who has got a future, than their best years behind them. Get him to play in behind rather than him holding up the ball.

Stol

Ric (Hamza @ 60 mins)

Okoli

Nelson

Training cone (blue preferably)

Skipp

James
Page

Fatawu

Evans (sub for Silko)

Mavididi

If we can’t afford to sign a suitable training cone, play Aluko and let him bomb forward and cause a bit of chaos.

You're not allowed to field training cones. It would have to be a real person.

Show me the rule where it says we can’t

This has all the makings of a defeat, and a big scalp (comparatively speaking, not in terms of league form). Former Prem winners away to Wrexham on Sky etc.

FfS - have we been breaking another EFL rule then? Mebee we could claim that Soumaré was a pitch invader (albeit a very slow and sluggish one)!
