Aleksz Posted 31 January Posted 31 January From what I know about him he’s kind of similar to Page, tallish, left footed No. 8 - not really a priority position but any new face will do right now. 1
BrilliantFox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January @JimJams You literally said this yesterday, cmon you can't be defending this transfer. 16 hours ago, JimJams said: Why though? We can develop our own young players. Unless there's an obvious player who can come in and be better than our crop why put their players in the way? Bare in mind that our U21 side is currently sat above Man Citys u21s in the PL2. 1
LCFCCKEANO Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Man City’s U23’s are essentially championship/league one standard throughout, and he is 18 and has played senior minutes for them, should be good enough to actually compete in this league at minimum, I’m happy with it

If this signing was accompanied but a solid, experienced defender or two, with a great attitude (like when we signed Big Wes in this league in January) and a striker, this becomes a great loan signing. If this is it, and we are pinning our survival hopes on an 18 year old with little experience, it says everything we already know about dumb and dumber. So as a loan signing, it’s likely good in isolation but all depends on what else. 2
Tielemans63 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January We need experienced players, not an 18 year old on loan. 2
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Let’s give the lad a chance before writing him off as not what we need.
Lambert09 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January I think the key thing a lot of you are missing is that there’s a good chance this deal is free. Whereas the experience you are asking for, would cost money 3

I'd rather not be bringing in players that block our young prospects. This lad plays instead of Reid or Ramsey, so it's not the obstacle in front of our young prospects aside from arguably Page who is really going to be covering for JJ while he's out and is better in that role anyway. It also doesn't look like we're bringing anybody in at all, so we need bodies. I thought your initial scepticism was that he wasn't good enough due to his playing time at Premier League level for Man City, which seems a higher bar than necessary given our current state. We also don't really know if this is a loan to anything further do we? If it's with a view to anything permanent then it makes it more desirable.

coolhandfox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January He could be great but we don't need more kids when we are playing teenagers already.
kingfox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Watford took Max Alleyne on loan from Man City earlier this season, barely any first team minutes, and ended up looking like one of Watford’s best players. Of potential loans from the Premier League who can play the 8/10 role, Mukasa is one of the most realistic we can get. Don’t mind it if this comes off, but also agree with other comments, we need 1-2 more experienced signings who know the division. 3
Ian Nacho Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Not entirely convinced this is what we need but I'll give him a chance.
CarolinaFox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January "Our team is too old, we need to play young talent" When we play young talent or get in loans for young players "grrrrr this team is full of teenagers." Grumble grumble. Its a signing, he has potential, its better than nothing. Do we need extra cover with other positions? Yes.

Muzzy_no7 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Bizzare. Just recall Alves and one of Braybrooke/Cartwright then go and loan a striker and LB 1

You’d really think Alves or Braybrooke considering where they are playing right now, would be able to contribute as much? We are running out of time to be choosy. We need whatever we can get to strengthen the team now… Edited 31 January by MPH 1
JimJams Posted 31 January Posted 31 January And for about the 100th time, Braybrooke cannot play for us this season. He is ineligible.
beepee1984 Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Mukasa to play up front and at 18 be the most senior player in our forward line - playing Monga, Page & Motsi behind him

Libertine Posted 31 January Posted 31 January Still traumatised by the scene of this bro falling to his death in Disney's 1994 mega-hit The Lion King. You've blood on those paws, Scar.

brookfox Posted 31 January Posted 31 January If it’s him and a striker, then great. If it’s him as the striker I give up.
