Absolutely. King has his hands tied somewhat but that ‘midfield’ of Choudhury, Page, Fatawu, BDCR & Mavididi will be overrun by any team in this division who are willing to put a shift in. Physically weak.

He has been part of the team that has set them up to play like this all season.  They aren't the most skilled in the middle but you make yourself hard to play against.  Managers and coaches correct behaviours of players unless you don't think there is a problem.  Ricardo keeps drifting inside leaving massive gaps and unable to recover or make a tackle.  Mav and Fatawu have been allowed to be greedy players because of the lack of support.  Ayew is Ayew, you drill him into not moving from upfront, if not you call him out in front of the team and make an example, then you bin him off.  These clowns reward him by starting him the next game.

King and Marti have zero clues tactically on how to attack.  Before Okoli he set them up with the standard high line and players not moving into space.

If not for the red card, we would have won the game 2-0.

Can't put it on King today. Generated 2 xG, red card in 15 mins, Ayew missed a pen.

Its a shame this happened on his first day as caretaker. Because now the narrative has been set.

Alright, Fatawu's cousin. Next you'll tell us Ayew is a seasoned and proven international level striker who is good enough to lead the line.

King has been part of the coaching staff that has overseen this dross.  He is part of the coaching team that hasn't improved any player.

Today, to me at least proved that his ideas and techniques were not silenced by Marti as he set the same players up to play exactly the same way.

I'm not fully sure I agree with the latter. Second half we were significantly more direct, we saw fullbacks much higher up (similar to how Cooper player Justin)

I really don't think we can take anything from that game, we played with 10 for basically all of it

The defending and Thomas for their 2nd goal. Absolutely pathetic. This team is finished. There is literally nothing there. No manager worth his salt is getting to entertain this job.

It wasn't just Thomas,  Nelson just needed to step up and he would have been offside. I think that's what Tomas was waiting for but he should have got into a better position.

I guess without "fly on the wall" access to training sessions and team brief's we'll.never truly know.

I'm not saying you are wrong in your view,  and in all honesty I was hoping for at least a variation in tactics, and not a rince and repeat  from previous matches.

I wasn't expecting a radically different team selection truth be told, as his hands are pretty much tied which who's available, but he could have been a bit more adventurous,  both in selection and instructions to the team.  I'm past being disappointed now and quite 'meh' with everything.  And have quickly learnt not to let if spoil my weekends

I'm glad someone else is seeing it.

Under what circumstance do you expect a man who has never managed a professional football team before to pull out a 1-0 win despite being 10 men down in 15 minutes and then your Striker misses a penalty.

Feels brutal to him tbh

It’s getting to the point where it’s just sad to watch what this iteration of king power has done to the club. The performance today summed up the whole club - rudderless (sadly not Rudkin-less)

The spine of this team is awful. A poor backup keeper as first choice (again), poor defensive unit, Hamza & a 17yr old in the engine room, Ayew as a number 9. Aluko for me the only positive today. Without JJ midfield we have nothing at all.

I didn’t see anymore running than previous weeks, yeah we had a bit of a go second half when the pressure was off, but there’s just nothing about this group that you can get behind. I feel for the youngsters, trying their best but the pros they’ve got to guide them are just dreadful. But hey, we’re looking at loaning in a player who can’t get in the Southampton team in so I’m sure that’ll sort everything out!

Top’s plan if we don’t get the playoffs this year is to get promoted next year. It’s looking more and more likely by the week that it’ll be trying to get out of league 1.

I feared the worst when I saw the lineup and so it proved. The start of the game was another horror show, no different to Marti.

Then the sending off was harsh and didn't help.

Second half something changed because we started with real purpose but when we missed the Penalty you knew it was never going to be our day.

I I were King I'd bring in Taggert or Elliott to work with the CBs and help them imporve.  Nelson was caught Ball watching for the second Goal.

The only positive was the young players especially Aluko who showed what a great player he can be for us. Personally I'd like to see him gtoomed into a midfield

role a bit like NDiddi winning back the ball for us. Except Aluko would be better in possession.

I agree It's all conjecture but using my eyes is and noticing repetition is enough for me.  King will always be a legend in this club and has achieved more than the players put together, but that doesn't give him a free pass for his current role as too much is at stake.

Let's see if he plays Ayew next game and allows him to pay exactly the same way, that's all I need to know.

If Ayew (or any of the clowns) were ignoring King during his role as a coach, why would he play him exactly the same way after everything he has seen.  That's where the coaching staff either have no clue or were happy with what he is doing.  The same with putting Thomas back in to make the same poor mistakes in defence.

We have zero passages of play when attacking.  Mav actually passed to Thomas who made a run and then crossed.  These players are good enough to be spamming crosses from both sides all game.  Poor coaching and tactics is stopping it.  They should send all week working on it because whatever they have been doing isn't working.

I liked when he powered forward to make something happen, he even had the footballing brain to keep running into space after passing to Mavadidi.  His mistake was passing to Mavadidi and expecting the selfish clown to pass it and then move into space to continue the attack as a team.  Mav did his usual back pass to Thomas who was already set to hit it sideways and kill the attack.

This is a vampire team.  It has no soul.  I bet it doesn't even have a reflection when it looks in the mirror.

Look I’m putting aside all the reasons we’re in this mess when I’m down there.

I feel very apathetic about the whole club at the minute but it does feel like a certain element of our fan base are trying to actually propel us into league one.

I looked at the starting line up today and initially thought WTF Kingy change something, but then I realised what was out there was all we have. I would have probably started Harry Winks TBH.

I’m not giving them a standing ovation or applauding them off  but I’m also not chanting ‘We’re F’in Shit’ ‘You’re not fit to wear the shirt’ or booing anyone either. This is all we have to work with getting on their back will do absolutely FA to get us out of this.

I thought it was better today, not great but better, in hindsight Okoli should have taken him down from behind the moment he received the ball as soon as he got turned we were screwed. Ayew puts that penalty away and they’re under a little more pressure to see the game out at 2-1, who knows?. It looked like we had a bit more drive in midfield.

Does that role work and does it cause us problems when defending? Is anything I've said incorrect and not happening on the pitch?  No need to be so aggressive

It was the power run that convinced me that he could play in midfield and carry out runs like that regularly, Causing panic in opposition teams.

The Coaches have to be convincing the Wingers that it's a team game when in possession.

In their defence though, they are left stranded with no support at times because of the lack of Pace within the Team.

It's the lack of pass and move into space which frustrates me.  We have scored some good goals from moving with pace and crossing or neat football where there is support.  Then they would go back to the dross the next game.  We are our own worst enemy.  Correct those problems and we stand a chance.  We need Mav and Fatawu to be getting the ball at the edge of the box not the halfway line.
