Weird that every journalist reported it was expected to be fine and done

Because it probably is.

Unless either club confirms its is not.

Think it’s just delayed, sounded last night like Lascelles and Mukasa were put through much earlier, think this one was extremely last minute so likely to be at the back of the backlog. If it fails we will hear about it quickly from the journos who reported it initially as they won’t want to lose any credibility

No idea if this lad is any good but I’ve watched Newport a fair bit this season and Opoku hasn’t been great. He’s 24 and his contract is up at the end of this season I believe. Suspect he’ll have an ok career in League 2, maybe the National League.

It's more likely he could be of use for us at this level than Richards will be - that's what I'm saying. If Richards has been brought in just because he's physical I'd rather play Opoku who is 24 and has 9 goals in 23 nineties than a lad that's never played a senior game.

Well, he is a Jamaican International, with 2 goals from 14 appearances. And Opuku's loan to the end of the season, was agreed a couple of weeks ago.

The context is that opoku is playing for the bottom club in league 2 and hardly pulling in rave reviews.

let’s give this guy a chance. He might end up woeful but you occasionally pluck a gem from a youth team. Chelsea have better scouts than us, thats all I know

A significant number of credible journalists have all said we were confident we'd done this deal yesterday. We obviously were working on it and seem to think we did it in time.

It's possible that it was late for whatever reason and the club didn't get it done. That doesn't make all of those people wrong.

I can't say I'm that fussed.

He looks unbelievably raw, I doubt he'd be much more than cover. Just big and fast, not particularly technically gifted.

After watching Ayew for half a season “lead the line” that sound of pace fills me with excitement

, including Daka, I’d take all 3 over Ayew upfront.

Can you imagine Elvis randomly running right and smashing into Fatawu. We’d be entertained. For all the wrong reasons, but entertained.

Why have you reminded me all these players existed, I'd manage to forget about all apart from Daka

Big version of Daka then.

If Richards was in his early twenties and had just scored 50 goals in 60 games in one of Europe's top twenty leagues then yeah. Something like that.

Richards is (would be?) coming here even more raw than Fatawu with no track record of note even if that u19 or u21 level and a highlight reel less impressive than two or three e of our own junior forwards.
