If a CB doesn’t come in this week, then it will be seriously annoying.

Then another striker on top of Bristric is the only other piece missing atm. Preferably someone who is English based, as you look at the goals charts from recent season’s, it’s mostly littered with players who have been around the block, or young gambles such as Ballard, Wareham, Pepple of last season.

I quite like the thought of testing Stockport for Wootton, or you take a young gamble on someone like Daniel Kanu and hope he bangs at this level.

Kanu is a great shout. Did well at Walsall last season on loan.

Defintiely need at least 1 if not 2 CB’s and I also hope that a few more are on the way out as we are still carrying a number of high earners who clearly want and need to be elsewhere. Busy couple of weeks ahead for McCarron.

Really surprising we haven’t gone for Archie Collins. But then again, if we can’t move on Skipp and Choudhury then it doesn’t make much sense.

I would’ve really liked Davis Keillor Dunn too - shame that link went quiet.

It's a week till the season starts, Collins being without a club is very telling.

He is likely asking for more wages than his ability demands. Also probably not as good as most make out on here.

Thing that annoys me about being in league one is only having 7 subs one of those will be a keeper

This alone means we need another 4 out the door at least

@BlueBus deserves the credit for the Kanu suggestion.

With how League 1 has looked in recent seasons, you either go for the tried and tested, or take a punt like Leyton Orient did with Ballard for example and hope they take off. Looking at young Championship strikers, Daniel Kanu or Ryan One(Who we’ve been linked with) would be my top two picks.

Knowing us though, we’ll probably end up with Adebayo or Yates.

Now Nelson’s gone down, as Russell said last week, they’ll have to make a move in the transfer market. I expect a loan for someone like Malachi Hardy, then if Souttar, Faes and Okoli all leave, then at least 2/3 will need replacing.

Assad Al Hamlawi as a bit of a target man alternative to Bristric. Currently playing in the top flight in Romania for Universitatea Craiova and valued at around £2 million. Born in Sweden, 6ft2 and scored goals in Poland before moving to Romania.

Not saying we should sign him, but find it interesting Will Smallbone doesn't have a club yet.

In light of the Okoli story and Souttars imminent departure, I did some digging to have a look around.

Admittedly, this is a guy I found on FM26 and he was an absolute monster, so me being me, I had a look at him IRL. Given we need a centre half I would maybe sooner chuck money at him than at John Souttar. May be a hidden gem and not too much in the way of wages or transfer fee. Looks like he can mix it too

There is also this fella, watched about a minute and saw more end product than Mavididi. Market value is 1.8m

Fxxk the idea of signing ball playing centre backs and instead sign some big fxxking DM's and play them at the back as they can presumably kick a ball.  There's a box, and there's me, standing outside of it. Thinking.

Liam Morrison on loan, got a feeling this could be on the cards.

QPR ball playing center back

The kind of signing I wouldn’t mind.

Is he great? No. But it’s a decent alignment of age, profile etc.

Instead - welcome Callum Chambers

Not that I want him, but it wouldn’t surprise me if George Edmundson’s name crops up if we don’t get John Souttar.

Came on as a sub I believe, fell out of favour last season and isn’t rated by their fans, 1 year left on his contract so may end up moving somewhere.

David Okagbue in league 1 last season at Peterborough.

Young at 22, don’t think he would cost much. Not exactly exceptional but could potentially be developed.

Michael Antonio is available. He’s left his Qatari club after playing 4 games for them
