Who do we need (Summer 2026)

The International game "weeks" may be influencing who we sign/sell/pick .

If we and/or the opponent decide to apply to cancel the games scheduled for those breaks we´ll end up with a backlog of games later in the season. So the club may not want to sign internationals (full, U21 etc.).

The alternative is to play the games without the internationals, thereby avoiding a fixture pile up.

Shame to see we didn't take a punt on Sam Gale, who's gone to Barnsley. Stagnated a bit mainly because he was shoved at RB, but he's a super mobile centre back, good off both feet and ultra composed. Be interested to see how he develops

Lucas Herrington about to sign with Hull. 18 years old, this is less than a season after he left Brisbane Roar to go to Colorado. Had a great World Cup, but anyone with eyes knew he was going to be a valuable asset.

 

Hull are paying £20m.

Brisbane sold him to Colorado for less than £500k.

 

Herrington is the top tier of prospects but there’s plenty more coming. I’m begging McCarron to look down this way. Yes, the reputation of the league is poor, but the kids it’s producing are excellent.
