Why? There's absolutely no way he would ever come back here, especially a club that will soon be consigned to league 1 and one that will destroy his career if he did come back. He left us when we were in the Premier league. He isnt coming back to us in league 1.

 

He's just here for a day out as he was probably invited by Aiyawatt and probably given VIP treatment.

Don’t know anything, but at the very least I would guess top and Rudkin are still barking up the wrong tree. If there was any hope of that ever happening I would imagine Enzo is currently in the process of blocking a few numbers lol

Obviously not. But I suppose they're allowed to come and watch their old club. Especially if there's any chance of Mukasa being a first team option for the team they're employed by next season!

Say what you want but it is dodgy - could be anywhere in the world with millions of pounds of pay off in his back pocket, but chooses to watch a bottom of the table clash of Leicester vs Norwich on a Saturday lunchtime with his two assistants. 
 

Even if it’s as tenuous as watching Mukasa ahead of getting the Man City job in the summer, there was a purpose.

It’s an extremely odd one. Maybe Enzo is keeping his options open in case things don’t work out for him in the summer. 
 

I don’t think the performance would have done anything to sway him

Bit of me (and completely more likely) thinks this was also some propaganda from the board - get Enzo to attend and make the fans think we’re doing something ultra ambitious to take the heat off.

Maresca, though, for all his qualities, actually ended up being part of the problem. He misspent huge sums of money and scraped over the line for the biggest shoe-in of a promotion in second tier history. We didn't even have top six form for the final quarter of the season. The style of play, and reliance on Faes/Vestergard, or even Vardy and the soon-to-be-sold KDH, meant that we didn't have a base to build on in the PL. And then he jumped ship, and left us in utter chaos, because that was always the plan. He had no long term plan for us. We were a stepping stone, and the media Balague-led machine was a constant reminder of that.

 

Whatever, if people are seriously entertaining the idea that he might be in charge next year, then that's every bit as deluded as - and kind of plays into the hands of - those who believe Top deserves unwavering support. And even if he did return, which he definitely won't, it wouldn't address the key problems at hand. It didn't last time.

In the kindest possible sense, that’s a ludicrous post.  Who did he misspend on? Because coady and winks were already in their way here before Enzo got involved. 
 

and with winks, you can’t say he misspent because he utilized him very well and he was a pivotal part of the side. 
 

It’s so easy to say it was an easy job, yet so many  of those players are still here and are shadows of what they were for Enzo.  
 

Yes he struggled towards the end but when he tried to refresh us in January something all teams do, he got nothing.   We signed young starts like mads and fatawu, how is that not planning for the future? 
 

it’s just a case that people will never be happy. No job is easy in football, you can spend 200m and still look awful. He did an excellent job, whether you liked the football or not. We had a chance to push on that summer and had he stayed, we would have been  completely different team and the position we would be in now would be light years ahead of what we’ve got.  
 

 

we’ve had many wobbles over the years and typically we bottle it, Enzo didn’t. That should be commended not used against him
