In January we underwent a significant restructuring of our football club, promotions for Rudkin and Kevin Davies, and new blood added in a new Director of Football with the appointment of James McCarron, this new brains trust and supposed new direction and fresh ideas has so far overseen the uninspiring appointment of Gay Rowett and now links to Darren Ferguson ………

This doesn’t feel like a massive shift in strategy or any outside of the box thinking, in fact there is a massive lack of innovative ideas or strategy and just looks to be more of the same tired, lacklustre, lazy recruitment.

How on earth are James McCarron and Kevin Davies supposed to be responsible for the ridiculous Darren Ferguson story?

Errrrrrrr is James McCarron not Director of Football? Therefore he will be involved in the recruitment process will he not? And I am fairly sure Kevin Davies will also be involved indirectly regards overall club strategy. My comment is largely based on this restructure isn’t really delivering much in the way of innovative thinking.

The only really important change too that restructure as far as I’m concerned really, is James McCarron

He’s going too be essentially running the Club, his job is to be in charge of recruitment, player development, running all first team performance departments, data and analysis departments, sports science and oversee the development of the Academy

McCarron didn’t start in January, he started like not even 2 weeks ago, he has nothing to do with the shambles that has played out since january

People can argue what impact he’s actually going too have with having too answer to Rudkin, but as far as I understand it, McCarrons going too have more power than people think, yes Rudkin is going to be “overseeing” but he shouldn’t be dictating what McCarron does, that’s the hole point of McCarron coming in that he can take over that side of things

lets wait and see what he does and how it goes

If Rudkin shoots down McCarron’s vision, we’ll know pretty soon, because I dare say McCarron will just leave

Let’s hope it’s right, I really do hope McCarron is given the opportunity to rebuild the club, would love to see a change in style to play more high energy, high intensity game with a forward thinking manager and young hungry players.

Rowett was appointed before McCarron started. And given that we were heading for relegation and Rowett has a track record of saving teams in that position, it was a logical appointment anyway.

The Ferguson story is utter nonsense. Absolutely nothing in it. As far as I’m aware, McCarron’s role does not make him Emperor of the Internet so I don’t see how he’s supposed to be responsible for every bullshit rumour out there.

The new structure hasn’t even had the chance to appoint a new manager yet. Your comment was a bit silly.

let’s hope so

as someone has mentioned, the restructure hasn’t had chance too really be implemented

Now that it’s in place let’s see what occurs

Top said back in that interview he did that the new Sporting Director (McCarron) will bring in a new philosophy and style for the Club too adopt , that’s tells us another thing, if McCarron is going too be behind that, then he’d also be behind the hiring of the next manager, why would Top or Rudkin be behind the hiring of the manager if they aren’t the ones in this new structure driving the new philosophy and style?

This is a McCarron job, which surely has to be a positive? Someone different doing the hiring for a change

Nothing changes till Aiyatwatt sells the club, there is no hope with these charlatans running the club, they are incompetent in the extreme. We aren’t getting promoted back to the championship at the first attempt.

Only way it changes is luck rather than judgement from the owners. That they pick an Enzo rather than a Marti. And they stick around for a 3/4 years.

Completely agree.
The only reason Enzo was under consideration was because Southampton were supposedly interested in him earlier in the season.
We don’t think outside the box.
