Rudders is on a cruise at the minute, no rush he has a well planned plan

Probably interviewing the cruise ships entertainment manager to see if he wants a crack at managing a football team.

You know when someone gets thrown overboard and it’s completely accidental.

Put aside the managers search and the lack of rumours (which is completely normal in this game and we have none), there is no reason that a manager on a fix term contract position has not been confirmed. No reason. Whether they want him to stay or go. No kid yourself otherwise.

Mark Robins may soon part company with Stoke according to some sources. Should be high on any shortlist I would have thought?

And as for the Southampton manager, reputation tarnished maybe. But his success with that team can't all be attributed to an analyst with an iphone. Who says no?

Please can we just ban all future purchases from Southampton from this day forward? There are 90 other professional clubs in England we can continue trading with.

The only reason that makes sense is is because they want to recruit a stronger candidate but aren't 100% confident in obtaining one, so are keeping Rowett on as a back-up.

Not a logical reason. In fact even worse if they are doing that. Showing further disastrous management. That would be the most ridiculous move.

Logical or not, I think this is what’s happening.

I’d agree. McCarron will be waiting to see what happens with Lommel re Johnson / Neilson. Whether Caballero goes to Man City with Poundland Pep, and if so what happens with the coaches in City’s u21 set up. If none of them move, Rowett it is.

I can't see Lommel losing that second leg. Dender are ****ing awful and Lommel are in incredible form.

You'd imagine they'd both want to stick around for a crack at a league where anyone can qualify for Europe. Although LJ has been doing PR on wanting to be back in england for a while now.

It'll likely be someone who isn't in a job surely? King Power didn't have the money last season to get a manager who was employed, so why would they have the money to do it now?

The recent strategy of only targeting managers who are out of work has been spectacularly unsuccessful. We'll never know for certain what would have happened had we forked out for Corberan in the summer of 2024 or Rohl in the summer of 2025, but it's not unreasonable to assume they might have fared better than either Cooper or Cifuentes. If the best possible candidate we can attract this time happens to be out of work, great; if he's currently employed, we need to do whatever it takes to get him—even if it takes some time. If we carry on shopping for managers in the bargain bin we'll continue to get the same results.

Get in Robbie Neilson, and be done with it. Let's just show some intent, and crack on ffs

Might be out of the loop here but he's the assistant coach of a Belgian 2nd division team that finished 5th? Why would signing him be a show of intent?

Could also be a fast route to div2

It wouldn't. People just want a quick appointment because we all want to move on from last season. That's understandable, but if the club prioritizes getting it done quickly over getting the best candidate we'll just end up sacking again by October.

Because he's actually a decent manager in his own right, just keeping his 'hand in' doing some caoching.

He's linked with our new sporting director.

He has a win % of over 50%

He has three promotions under his belt as a manger.

I agree with you, Nelson has a great record as a Manager and is only Assistant at Lommel, as Johnson was desperate for extra Coaching experience (and the City Group could afford to back him). I think he'd be a great appointment for us (and not only because he's an ex-City player).

Makes sense in Top world. Whilst every other club begins to get to the front of the queue for signings and departures
