Not at all, it’s bad but it’s not unprecedented.

Man United got relegated 6 years after winning the European Cup, Aston Villa did the same but in 5 years for example

10 years is a really long time in football and it can work the other way. Look at our rise from 2011 to 2021.

That said, let’s see where we are in 5 years and we might be looking at the worst collapse in 15 years if the rot doesn’t stop

Or just the 8 years between 2008 and 2016.

Agreed. The two semi final defeats were on negative tactics by Rodgers in my opinion. What a shit show in last nearly 4 years from all concerned at KPFC (formally Leicester City FC)

I remember being called entitled by many on here for being absolutely furious at Rodgers after that Roma defeat

Don't think you can pick the worst overall.

Point in time, we are the worst of the last decade 100%.

Other clubs have found redemption,  hopefully we can in due time.

I knew our fanbase was irredeemably happy clappy at that. I was apoplectic and everybody else was all enjoy-the-ride

leeds went from a CL semi final to league one in something like 6 years, also as a result of destructive management and reckless disregard of finances

I seem to remember the media taking great delight in Leeds demise season after season.Partly due to Ramsdales recklessness.

I think the fact that Leicester have had a promotion thrown in along the way has disguised how sharp our own decline has been to the average neutral observer.

I may be reading and watching the wrong things, but not many pundits seem to have noticed our plight

Manchester United went from winning the top flight and Champions League to relegation in less than 10 years.

I think someone said it earlier.   Man Utd went from winning the League (1967), European Cup (1968) to relegation 6 years later (1974).

yeah but the game is considerably different and the circumstances are different i.e sea grave and the general money the game now has

Also worth pointing out (as probably has been already somewhere) ... our current owner/DOF are incompetent, but not uniquely incompetent.

This is the same Club that was so financially badly run, that we went into administration in 2002/3.

And the same Club that was so badly managed, that we were relegated to the 3rd Division for the first time in our then 124 year history  (2007-8) i

Not that different.   For one of the biggest Club in the world, to go from European Champions to relegation in 6 years, was pretty special.    And incredibly funny!  :)

Some interesting European comparisons

Boavista were Portuguese champions in 2001, and they were in third tier by 2011. They no longer exist and the 'club' is essentially the ultras team in about seventh tier.

Deportivo La Coruña champs in 2000, had a decent spell but within twenty years were playing third tier football.

Verona in 1985, were Serie B by 1995 and eventually went down to third tier in 2007.

Kaiserslautern in 1998, Bundesliga 2 by 2007 and then Liga 3 in. 2018.

Bordeaux in 2008, fourth tier by 2025

Still a great collapse though regardless. Money is all relative because clubs make more now than they did back then.

I can’t think of any other club that has fallen so fast, so quickly over a 10 year period.

2016 - Champions of England

2017 - Champions League Quarter Final

2021 - FA Cup / Community Cup Winners

2023 - Relegated from Premier League

2024 - Promoted from Championship

2025 - Relegated from Premier League

2026 - Possible relegation to League 1….?

I can only think of clubs like Portsmouth, Rangers, Wigan, Bolton etc, however they were all hit by being in administration and massive points deductions (which is still a possibility for us) but this has happened without us having those challenges (yet).

I did a quick google search and only Deportivo - La Liga Champions in 2000 to third Tier in 2020s, or Schalke dropping like a stone.

Schalke were a few seasons in second division and now on the verge of promotion. It’s not the same thing
