Where’s your evidence for McCarron’s failure in a weaker league?

Or is it just that he was there for 3 years and didn’t get them promoted? Is that your basis?

What do you know about Belgium football and the quality of it? The structure of it? The difference in quality between Pro League and the Challenger Pro League?

what do you know specifically about McCarron’s role as Sporting Director there?

What do you know of the specific roles of some of the Clubs under the CFG umbrella??

Were you aware of the 12 clubs CFG have, specifically 4 of them are dedicated Development Clubs in:

Lommel SK

Troyes

Montevideo

Palermo

of course promotion would be desirable but the role at these clubs is really entirely about player development too feed Man City, their other Clubs or too make player profits

so after 3 years at a development Club for CFG, to then be promoted too CFG’s Global Director of Player Development….he must have been pretty sh*t hot at his role there come on ffs

its not as black and white as he didn’t get them promoted blah blah blah so he must have failed, clearly not with his promotion, that alone is evidence he excelled in his role there

There were reports McCarron left LOL in €20 million of debt, what’s that got to do with the price of cheese? If it’s even true? Perhaps some of that debt is from the multimillion pounds state of the art brand-new training facility and academy they have just finished building there under McCarron‘s watch? Hardly anything to do with bad running of the club.

People need to research more before casting out silly tropes

I know there’s not much to be positive about and I know it’s difficult to trust any appointments that Top makes

But this McCarron fella in my opinion looks like a coup, he has done nothing but excel

Granted coming to Leicester could break that upward trajectory for him. I’m not saying he’s a guaranteed winner for us, but he doesn’t look bad when you look at it all

Global Director of Player Development at the biggest Footballing group in the world?? His contact book and access too the best talent or up and coming talent must be the most sought after golden ticket book in the game

he’s our sporting director now

get too work please

Ok, let’s speak in 3 years.

Wether he ends up a success or failure, I’d be more than happy too

I don't think anyone is seriously judging him before he even starts working. We're just frustrated and disillusioned.

That said, the two things I hope McCarron does are get us back to signing young players whose ability and value are only going to improve and to cast a wider net than we've always been stuck with previously. The fact he's worked globally at youth development for City Group should inspire confidence in both those things.

So it's just funny to see that he actively targeted the signings of 25-30 year olds (not really the best recruitment strategy for a growing club at all) and that he actively looked to recruit experienced English coaches lol

The recruitment of 25-30 Year olds is an interesting one and valid question too ask

All depends on the strategy, players at the lower end of that age spectrum can be very profitable with them approaching their prime, bring them in and sell them on,, and the players at the older end can bring experience and leadership for the younger developing players

Whatever McCarron was doing, earned him that promotion to global director

and I think that’s a green tick rather than a red flag

I'll tell what this guys biggest battle will be - no decision is made without Rudkin. Rudkin doesnt make a decision without getting the go ahead from Top. Top discusses decisions with his  unicorn.

Yep. He's shit until proven otherwise. Crap track record and plenty of red flags - I'm not pussyfooting around this shit anymore.

Media are saying good candidates didn’t want the role because of Rudkin and how we’re a basket case, and with the history of appointments this lot of made, it has all the ingredients of at best a mediocre appointment. And then consider the nature of the challenge and I’d say he hasn’t got a hope in hell. Although if success is judged at not going bust and avoiding sanctions, and perhaps resetting and bumbling around the lower leagues for a bit, then you never know…

Has he started yet or is it next month ?

I know it’s the hope that kills you but a part of me just wants someone with common sense to sort the mess out and come in with new ideas.

Depends whether your a club that needs to generate big income to pay for new recruits and club overheads of which ours are big and heavy. I don't think filling a team with 25-30 years olds will do that. Of course you need experience but if you don't keep signing poor players and getting relegated that should come from the younger players that have stayed, grown and gained that experience.

Ideally you want a stable team where you lose 1,2 or 3 players a year through sales and retirement/ageing moves to a lower level and the promotion of academy players and recruitment of young promising players

You definitely don't want a stagnant aged team like we have: a team that you hardly notice is changing is the ideal I would say.

He starts in July according to LinkedIn

About sums us up. So it'll be a quiet May/June then start work at pre season. If that happens then it's a disgrace.

Get all your ducks in a line BEFORE July so we're ready to go when preseason starts, otherwise it's another disastrous season ahead.

Hopefully that doesn't preclude getting involved before July? If he doesn't actually start till July as you say a disgrace

How longs he been in the role at Lommel? Seemed like they targetted some older players this season but in previous seasons its been very youth focused.
